Famitsu review scores (2/26/19)

This week’s Famitsu review scores include the first verdict for Devil May Cry 5.

OH CANT WAIT CANT WAIT CANT WAIt. (Not going by the review, but I do want to see good reviews so it sells well and incites a new generation of DMCs and Ninja Gaidens, action games the likes of which have been missed for over a decade, if not more)

You and me both brotha. And I hope a similar result from the reviews. Ninja Gaiden has a good chance with this game's success and to an extent Nioh's. This genre thrives in spurts, so hopefully we will see more hack and slash releases.

Seriously how is Team Ninja NOT making an NG game? From Soft is releasing Sekiro. Capcom with DMCV. Nintendo with Astral Chain, Bayonetta 3 & Daemon X Machina. All in one year (possibly for B3) & they are sitting on one of the best series in the genre.

Yes! The lack of this genre in recent years has been really rough on me. I've tried to fill the void with other games and while they help, there just isn't anything that speaks to me gaming wise as much as games like DMC, NG, GOW(1-Ascencion), and Bayonetta. Really can't wait till the 8th!

I definitely agree. Hopefully we will see a re-emergence of this genre through the end of this gen and beginning of next. Got this, GranBlue Re-Link, going by old rumors NG (hopefully redeeming razor edge), God of War sequel, and Bayonetta 3. Hopefully much more after those.

Exactly! I can't believe it took an entire console generation of them making stupid decisions to see how bad it was affecting them.

*With the exception of Dragon's Dogma. A lot of ppl really liked that game.

Capcom is back, thats 3 great games now with Monster Hunter, Resident Evil 2 and now DMC 5. Hopefully they keep the momentum going into next gen.

well tbh if you play previous MH on the handheld the quality of the game itself is also consistent from back then

but the platform choice is on point now

Man I don't know why, but I'm suddenly really hyped for Devil May Cry V. Capcom has been on a non-stop roll lately following MHW and RE2 so maybe that has a bit of influence on me.

EA needs to take note, creating something your fan want goes a long way.

Their golden era was the 90s dude. From their infinite amount of fighting games & Beat Em Ups. RPGs. Action games. Puzzle games. Mega Man games. Wrestling games. Racing games. Platformer games and their licensed Disney games were amazing. They made just about everything.

Famitsu always scores games very high. I wouldn't judge the game by their scorings lol. Im sure the game will be great however.

This will be my first DMC game. The demo was really awesome and the reviews are doing great too.

Might want to pick up the DMC HD collection first and 4. Play 1,3,4 skip 2. If not then watch Super Best Friends LPs of those games or at the very least watch the cutscenes. DMCV relies on the player's knowledge of past games. Mainly 3 & 4.

Totally agree we need this amazing genre back. Bring us the sequel to Dante’s inferno, also another great game I have for ps2 is Rygar it was a reboot from the original arcade game. Such a great title and a forgotten franchise which could be resurrected.
