Dark Sniper has waited half of his damn life for this moment. It's been 18 years since that mug has been shown. Shenmue III is the most anticipated game of 2019, and personally the most anticipated game of all time for Dark Sniper himself.
Lan Di has to pay for what he did to Ryo in that cold night in Yokosuka. It is going to be satisfying beating the shit out of Lan Di and if given the option, Dark Sniper will absolutely choose to kill Lan Di right there on the spot.

Mate, even best girl to absolutely die for Xiuying the Wise couldn't convince Ryo to abandon revenge so of bloody course DarkSniper will choose to kill Lan Di right there on the spot.
I can't wait for Shenmue 3 as well! But Suzuki has Shenmue 4 planned, which may or may not be the finale. If that's the case, don't expect to kill Lan Di in Shenmue 3. Unless of course, you kill him at the end of S3, and there's a plot twist where you find out who's been pulling the strings the entire time (Lan Di's boss), and then you go after him in S4! :P
I know right it's pissing me off how much Original Xbox games are going to Sony this gen and completely skipping Xbox. To make matters worse Shenmue never was even on PS.
No, it wasn't. I'll be playing this on PC either way because I've bought and played the previous 2 when they came out on Dreamcast and Xbox and love the franchise. But yeah, Xbox gamers shouldn't be denied this game...especially after Sega released 1&2 last year on the platform.
The countdown continues until I join dark sniper in the fight against Lan Di. I may not kill him though. But definitely beat the snot out of him for making me run around looking for sailors and having to work a job. https://m.youtube.com/watch...
Well it's a totally different game and vibe. I love Yakuza but they are similar really only in setting, and Shenmue truly brings you into Japanese culture and a more true to life experience of living in Japan in the 80's. All the little things add up to really make the world feel real.
I said it the other day and I'll say it again, I am confident that this game is going to look really nice. The more we see, the more I like it. I'm desperate to see some gameplay though.
Lan Di is the man. One of the best villains of all time. I bet ryo still will look like a novice trying to fight him in this game. Ryo is not going to be able to kill Lan Di for a long time.
This along with the Wuying Ren screenshot is so wonderful to see.
The game has continued to shape up beautifully every time they show new stuff. Looks like waiting until the gameplay is at a standard to which they are ready to show it has worked out well for them and the marketing cycle. EDGE magazine already very positive about what they're seeing of the gameplay and MAGIC Monaco will kick off the official marketing of the game leading up to August 29th release.
To be honest, the game has looked pretty good since the first screenshots came out of MAGIC Monaco 2016 and you could see the what they were aiming for with UE4. Some decided to call them "bullshots" even though video footage was there to back up the fidelity. Obviously animations and overall detail needed improving but it was always a current-gen benchmark they were aiming for. Now, if you can imagine, 3 years later and the game looks so much better and goddamn impressive for a game that perhaps isn't getting AAA financial backing. I say this game stands toe-to-toe with any Yakuza game over the past 5 years, and is ready to pretty much blow away expectations that people have, especially ones that still believe that game is only being made on ~$7 million or that innovator and legend Yu Suzuki somehow no longer has what it takes to make great games.
It's amazing for all the "concern" articles and unfounded controversy we had about the Kickstarter funding, graphics and depth of this game... looks like it will hold it own in the graphics department and also the gameplay department compared to not only Shenmue games of almost 20 years ago, but a number of modern games as well. No need to capture what a $200 million dollar Rockstar Game open-world is doing. It just needs to cast that Shenmue magic in a modern fashion, and looks like it's going to do just that.
