in my experience clear as many lines as possible as fast as possible, if you play like its classic tetris you will lose real quick...

True, but classic Tetris is the only way to win as well. I made Top 5 (#5) playing pretty classic! Set your target either to KO's or Attacker's with the R Stick at the very beginning of the match (it will be highlighted in a muted yellow). Then keep a straight block on hold at all times with the L button. You don't have to hold L down the entire time...it will stay there on hold until you press L again to release it (just in case someone didn't know).

After that, it's classic Tetris. Block all the noise out and concentrate on making Tetris after Tetris...double lines, triple lines and Tetris is the focus. If someone is targeting you, trust me they will stop after a couple Tetris's are sent their way. As blocks fall faster, all that management will go out the door if they want Top 20-15 and they have no time to play attention to you if they want Top 10. I have placed best focusing on myself (while setting it to automatically target my attackers or KO's of course)...but concentrate on classic Tetris. Good luck. Luck plays a part of it (the best player could be having an off day, etc) and the level of skill your 98 opponents have or lack. Each match is different. It's addicting though.

Yeah the more I’ve played the more I realise how much more complex the game is, both way can work really well and the best players are using both strategies.

This game is awesome. I’m low-key happy that Tetris keeps making good games.

It's Russian, how are we still allowed to play this? 🙃

In Russia, games play you.
