The Latest Nintendo Direct Made Me Cry

IGN: “On this week's episode, we break down every single detail revealed in the Direct, from the new first party games unveiled (Mario Maker 2! Link's Awakening remake!)”

TheGamez1001896d ago

The rune factory 5 announcement made me tear up a little lol. Its been years since the last installment, neverland went bankrupt a few years ago, and all hope was lost for any more games...til the direct happened. Thank the lord.

Is it that great of a game? I was sorely disappointed when I saw that announced.

King_Noctis1895d ago (Edited 1895d ago )

Its not like that is the only game that got announced. Also, RF4 was a great game thAt not alot of people have played due to it being exclusive to the 3DS.

Lol yea most reactions I saw for this games announcement were...underwhelming. Its pretty much like stardew valley but in an anime fantasy world. Its actually a spin off of the harvest moon series. An action jrpg+farming simulation. Very addicting and quite the fun cast of characters in each game. Its just these games are niche and dont really appeal to much ppl since theyre text heavy and slow games. Very unfortunate that the series didnt get the attention it deserves. We are very lucky to get the 5th game and hope it gets what it deserves with the port and new game being on the switch. Very underrated series.

Astral Chain looks awesome, same goes for Fire Emblem and Daemon X Machina.
The Link's Awakening Remake looks great IMO and Super Mario Maker 2 gives fans what they want and it looks like a load of fun.

This Direct didn't have everything I wanted to see, but it gave me what I needed to see from Nintendo.
Switch has a phenomenal lineup of games coming in the not too distant future.

Link's Awakening was the first Zelda game I ever played. I was 8 (this was around '95), and until then had mostly just played Megaman X, DKC, Super Mario, mostly action and platformers on the SNES and NES. I had never played an RPG until Link's Awakening, and later Super Mario RPG. I never knew that games could be so deep, involved and emotional. Obviously story-telling in games has come a long way, but back then, that was a revelation to me. I was obsessed, fell in love with the series, and have been a lifelong fan since. Not gonna lie, I got pretty emotional when I saw the trailer.

Who remember's this Link's Awakening commercial? Nintendo should re-create it again....

LoZ games aren't rpgs at all. They are action adventure games. There are a few elements of rpgs but the closest a Loz game has come to an rpg is breath of the wild.

That being said, I'm sure you and everyone else who has fond memories of this game are super excited.

I bought it for 3DS back in 2012 and played maybe 20% of it....liked what it was but was into other games at the time and kind of forgot about it.

So around 80% of this game should be new to me. Can't wait to play but $60 does seem a bit much. $50 would be better

Marin singing at the end of the LA announcement got me crying.
Other high notes were Daemon X Machina showing some good potential, and Astral Chains looking like a sick new IP.

Ugh the cheesiness is strong with gaming nostalgia..

King_Noctis1895d ago

You can say the same thing with just about every nostalgia out there.

Sony Patents To Prevent You From In-Game Harassment By Reading Your Emotions

A new patent recently published by Sony wants to gather biometric data of gamers to track whether one is being harassed using AI tools.

Profchaos18h ago(Edited 18h ago)

I hope this is one of those patents that never comes to fruition.

I already dislike the fact you can pay a significant amount for a online service buy associated games and content on said service and get banned from that service over potentially a misunderstanding the bans are already handed out for flimsy reasons

I'd rather see money invested in a ban that simply removes the offensive players ability to communicate with unknown players allow them to continue party chats with friends but not with Joe blow on cod.

exputers15h ago

Agreed. Blizzard recently banned a college Overwatch 2 player who's dependent for saying "shit." Pretty harsh.

Profchaos8m ago(Edited 7m ago)

How rediculas really. You can't say a word that's allowed in most PG films and prime time TV but the game is based around killing the enemy team using guns, explosives etc.

It's just backwards.

What your talking about is called block list

In 2006 a spaceship dropped of the playstation 3/xbox 360 i say that that generation was the last great gen with game functions/tech that has yet to comeback

Anyhow the playstation 3 if you block listed a id they could not talk to you in chatroom with either text or voice. But that was pre mind fucked 2018 when people were more human than sheep.

But hey gta 6 is coming out billion dollar budget without a single player custom character creator and without singeplayer coop off/online something saints row 1-3 had on the xbox 360.

Take my social security and bank account numbers too! Here’s a picture of my wife and our address.

phoenixwing10h ago

Cmon where's the pictures of your children. Don't hold out on them.

H911h ago

At this rate I feel Sony will eventually sell a room to play games in it where they can monitor your every breath

jambola7h ago

I genuinely get a bit worried sometimes when a friend says something that could be offensive In a party
Because I have no trouble believing some bans would happen when in a private party for saying something wrong

SegaSaturn66910h ago

I want them to censor erotic content by measuring my groin temperature so i dont get too distracted while playing black ops 2.

Popsicle9h ago

Terrible idea. Not only do I not consent to providing my biometric data, the potential for mishandling biometric data is almost a certainty. Positive stress and negative stress can produce similar changes in biometrics. Interpreting the precise emotion a person is feeling is not only invasive but could be easily misconstrued. I hope this never comes to fruition.
