Indie dev Playchemy pushes back the Nintendo Switch launch of 'Space War Arena' by two weeks.
Independent developer Playchemy today announced "Space War Arena" has added all-new online multiplayer for exciting 1v1 matches that include an endless war leaderboard so players can see how they rank across the galaxy.
by John Rairdin:
"Space War Arena is a game that may look casual but in truth is fully equipped for a much deeper level of play. It gets off to a pretty slow start, and I do wish I could have more direct control over my units in the field or alternatively that their AI was a little more robust. Regardless, Space War Arena is a fantastic game to play on the go, even without the joycons attached to your Switch."
VGChartz's Stephen LaGioia: "The name “Space War Arena” alone might invoke a certain presumption of this game being a dull, cliched sci-fi experience - and at least thematically, this may be the case. But thanks to its 'easy to learn, tough to master' mechanics, satisfying shooter gameplay, and constant action, it proves to be a surprisingly fun and addictive RTS. The handheld functionality and intuitive touch-screen support fits the fast-paced, accessible gameplay like a glove. At the same time, with varied tools at your disposal to play around with, there’s enough complexity for true strategy tacticians to get at least something out of this title."
