"In a sign that frustration is starting to set in, some enterprising hackers have gone to extreme lengths to get homebrew software to work on a PSP 3000. Take the example of a hacker named Royginald from the Philipines, who decided to simply swap in a PSP 2000 CPU while keeping the case and screen of the PSP 3000 intact. Sounds like a reasonable plan, right? Wrong."
This will be the first time the original 1993 arcade Ridge Racer has appeared on home consoles.
I hear rumors that Evercade may also be getting a Namco Arcade cart with RR and Tekken on it. That would be sweet as their previous Namco Console carts have also recently been updated to work on the VS. Previously, they only had the license to the handheld. so the OG Evercade and the EXP and even the Alpha were supported, but not the VS.

Sales of games in the Devil May Cry franchise have surged as a result of the new anime adaptation's success. DMC 4, DMC 5, and the DMC HD Collection have all reentered Steam's Global Top Sellers. Devil May Cry 5's player count jumped from around 2,000 concurrent players to just over 13,500 players in the span of a few days. Devil May Cry 4 and the Devil May Cry HD Collection have also seen similar sales boosts in the past week.
The success of the Devil May Cry anime adaptation—and to a lesser extent, the Onimusha TV series—serves as early proof the company's multimedia expansion strategy in action, showcasing how Capcom is leveraging its game IPs beyond consoles and into streaming platforms.
Lol, well... Better late than never, I suppose. It's a wonderful series. Devil May Cry V was truly something special (despite my small nitpick on the overuse of one particular level.) I still think it's probably the best action game ever made. Not sure if I'll check out the anime but I've been rocking with the games since the start of the series.
Deserved, DMC is peak hack and slash, and despite it's awareness, the sales numbers should be higher imo for what it does.
I really was expecting to hate this show with Nero voicing Dante and all the changes they made, but cringe forced cussing aside, I really enjoyed the hell out of it.
I am guilty as of yesterday lol I bought the HD collection on Playstation and the definitive edition of DmC for 20 bucks yesterday. Granted, I already own them on PC and Physically and just wanted a convenient spot because I was planning on doing a sit down at the TV playthrough with my son.
Then I realized I could just use my Asus rog(offline mode) and Steamdeck we play our own games at the same time. And I give him tips as we play through them. I will likely do DmC on the PS4 though because that doesn't play the best on steamdeck. Otherwise we would play in my office on my ps5 pro or gaming desktop. That is to cluttered though....
Anyways, I'm super excited to go home and play DMC1 with my son tonight!
I suspect that this hacker is doing it simply for the challenge, not to actually propose swapping CPU boards everytime someone wants to run homebrew.
lol there bashing him for this he did it for these reason
Royginald explains his reasons for doing the hack in his forum post (semi-translated):
1. To know if the PSP3000 can run ISOs
2. To learn more if $0ny did a GREAT alteration to prevent homebrew to run.
3. To identify more info in this new revision using HB apps (like PSP Ident)
4. To know if HB scene is Doomed for good (which is not ) on the PSP3000.
...hackers don't necessarily need a "point." The whole idea of hacking (whether it is computers, phones, PSPs, etc...) is to experiment with the system, find new and unexpected ways to tweak things, and ultimately discover things that the creators probably never new was possible.
So, I think the article writer was missing the point, not the hacker.
