I cannot beat battletoads, Solomon's key or adventure island even with emulators and save states.

Mark Cerny was the first true rival to Shigeru Miyamoto when Sonic the Hedgehog 2 made it big and gave Mario a run for its money. Thenblaternon with Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Resistance, the PS4, Knack, The Last Guardian, Marvel's Spiderman, Death starnding and now the PS5.
