Crackdown 3 Wrecking Zone Uses Power of Azure Cloud Equivalent To 12 Xbox One For Full Destruction

Crackdown 3 separates the main game campaign and its full destruction multiplayer mode called Wrecking Zone. This mode runs on Azure Cloud to offer full destruction for the city leading to some impressive multiplayer matches.

And buildings still “break apart like cardboard and styrofoam.” IGN

The game doesn’t look impressive at all. Sorry.

StrengthInNumbers2335d ago (Edited 2335d ago )

That is just one person's opinion. I could say 'buildings break apart like bread crumbs'. That doesn't make it a credible reference or fact.

ziggurcat2335d ago

it makes it credible when the visuals back up the statement.

Tech52335d ago

it's breaking technical boundaries in it's own way. Nvidia wants PC gamers to spend $1,300 to see ray tracing. this is a cheaper way to see a new form of physics calculations. of course you can always go deeper with pre-calculated destruction generating a million particles and whatnot. anyways seems like an interesting incentive that doesn't cost you an expensive rig to see.

How is seeing something with your eyes an opinion? That's like Trump claiming the next day he never said something many heard and been witness to, and calling it fake news

@Jin_Sakai

Completely agree. If this is all they have to show the POWA OF DA CLOUDz then they've wasted alot of time, money and effort for nothing. They should havd instead used the resources to make Crackdown a truly AAA
expericence to rival their closest competitors. Instead we get what looks like a low budget AA last gen effort.
Red Faction and Battelfield games have had multiplayed destruction since last gen without the use of cloud computing, what's so special about this?

Such a huge dissapointment.

GameStallion2335d ago

I almost always agree with what you say and this is no different.

stuckNhere4Good2335d ago (Edited 2335d ago )

It sure doesn't... But what I find comical is that the description (buildings break apart like they’re made of cardboard or styrofoam) Ryan McCaffrey gave of CD3's cloud-based destruction reads worse than Chris Roper's description (wasn't the most impressive physics tech) of the cloud-based destruction he saw running on a set of CELL-based blades at E3 2005... https://www.ign.com/article...

That demo was running on 14 CELL processors... https://slideplayer.com/sli... ; which is roughly equivalent to 7 PS3s.

dupe post.

Muzikguy2335d ago (Edited 2335d ago )

The game doesn't look impressive to me either. I'd like to know how they came up with the 12 Xbox One statement. Sounds like over hype to me

AmUnRa2334d ago

Yeah that statement sounds over hype.
I think you can do what CD3 is doing on local hardware.

gravedigger2335d ago

Not again with that "power of the cloud" bullshit

alb18992335d ago

Don't play it. I see it as an experiment.... could go well or wrong.

red faction has it on 360 and got the remarstered to play unill this but no ones online ever

spicelicka2335d ago

Has what? Cloud computation?

If you mean destruction in general, not sure what your point is. Battlefield has it too, and plenty of other games.

2335d ago
spicelicka2334d ago

I think there was misconception in my comment. It definitely new tech and destruction like this has never been done in multiplayer. I was trying to say you can't equate red faction to Crackdown 3.

ArchangelMike2335d ago

TBH this looks like a last gen game. For all the power of the cloud it still doesn't hold up to the exclusives of the competition. I was expecting something that couldn't be done, but we've seen multipayer destructible environments before - heck Battlefied has been doing that since the 360 days with BFBC. Epic disapointment.

The power of 12 xbox one's? Shouldnt the game have like destuctability on par with say a future xbox two or three then?

Gamist2dot02335d ago

Based on the videos I've seen, looks like Azure is powerful equivalent to 12 Xbox one (the gen before 360).

crazyCoconuts2335d ago

Maybe they meant there will be 12 Xbox Ones playing this game

Rematch director says there’s “room for more than one take of football”

In an industry with countless FIFAs, sorry EA Sports FCs, Sloclap’s Rematch is a brilliant arcade football game that feels incredibly unique. Putting players in the shoes of an individual player, the new multiplayer game is essentially Rocket League without the rockets and cars… it’s football.
