The Outer Worlds Will Allow You to Kill Everyone

From GameWatcher: "The Outer Worlds is going to let you murder any character you like, according to recent information. A blunt way of putting things, to be sure, but given the subject matter...

It is no secret that some fans of Bethesda's Fallout and Elder Scrolls titles have long argued against the implementation of so-called essential NPCs - characters which are crucial for the game in this way or the other, and are thus unkillable. No such thing in Outer Worlds."

I just bursted laughing at my job because of this comment, hahaha

They forgot to mention this game has no Little Billys or kids. So why wouldn't you be able to kill everyone? Dumb.

Looking forward to checking this one out.

Hope there's a dedicated quicksave button then

This game is looking good

Killing everyone - totally fine. Screwing absolutely anyone though, according to the other article, "massive amount of work for little payoff."

Why can't I be a murderous hooker? Or even a virtuous one? They aren't tied to Bethesda anymore, it's not like they have to worry about bugs...

I was really surprised by their reasons.

'Massive amount of work?'. It's usually just dialogue options and voice over work, something they're doing all day long anyway. It's still work, sure, but I'm surprised they'd call it massive.

'little payoff'. Really? That depends on a persons perspective. Some players absolutely love romance options and find it a big part of their overall RPG experience.

I'm more inclined to believe they wanted to avoid complications and trouble from having to make romances and characters that would fit all sexual orientations/genders. That makes way more sense than saying, 'We're already writing thousands and thousands of lines of dialogue and having it voiced, we couldn't possibly add a couple hundred more'.
