Dying Light has nothing to do with this game, Dying light 2 is made by and published by Techland, Dead island 2 started with Yager, then moved to sumo digital, now probably given to free radical published under Deep Silver.

Yeah the Dying light team made the first Dead Island game, but became their own thing after the first one.

Deep Silver is the publisher so it's a game that's going to get buried.

Now would probably be a good time to release it as it could fill the void left by the crappy Dead Rising 4 (which will likely not get a sequel at this point. But honestly this game is probably vaporware at this point, and even if it does reappear it likely has lost what made it even remotely interesting when it was announced

Wasn't crazy about the first but I would like some good co-op games that aren't built around microtransactions, GaaS, or unsynced save progress (e.g.Farcry 5). 2-4 players, co-op missions, save progress with eachother, co-op focused features (co-op kills and whatnot). Imagine if BF5 storyline had co-op? Would have actually been fun.
