Variety writes:
"Riddick and the Ghostbusters have both found a new home at one of America's oldest videogame companies.
Atari has bought rights to publish the videogame sequel to "The Chronicles of Riddick" and a new game based on "Ghostbusters" from Activision Blizzard, which declined to pick up the two projects after merging with Vivendi Games this summer."
Xfire writes: "Most video games based on movies are bad. These ones are not."
Matt writes: "10 years ago Ghostbusters The Video Game was released on Xbox 360. A decade later the remaster has been released. We review Saber Interactive's latest game."
WTMG's Todd Eggleston: "Ghostbusters The Video Game is nostalgia done right, and puts you right back in 1984. It isn’t a masterpiece of a game, and neither was the movie, but it reminds us again that it is ok for entertainment to just be entertaining. It is a game that deserves to be remastered and remembered. And 35 years later, it also serves to remind us that a remaster doesn’t always need to be Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott. Sometimes, Ray Parker Jr. is exactly who you need to call."
I hope Xbox 360 owners are ready for the inferior version of Ghostbusters
YESSSSS, GHOSTBUSTER. It's a shame that Activision Blizzard dump this title. It would have definitely been a decent seller. I can't wait to fling ghost around with the sixaxis.
Glad to here it
Kudos to Atari for scooping up the Ghostbuster rights to bring forth a franchise I loved as a kid. It will go perfect with the 25 DVD Real Ghostbusters Complete collection I'll pick up during the holidays. Damn its good to be a Ghostbusters fan right now!
Boy Variety is a joke. They clearly mixed up "Atari", the company that created the cool old Atari 2600 system, with the "new" Atari, the distributor that is actually the FRENCH company formerly known as Infogrames. Infogrames BOUGHT the Atari name from a trademark pool to cash in on the historic fame that came with the name.
