The latest GDC State of the Industry report reveals a lot about how devs are making and selling games, including the fact that nearly 25% say their games sell best on Switch versus other platforms.
"Back in the innocent 1990s, Jaleco released a trilogy of Super NES beat 'em ups in the Rushing Beat series. Well, in Japan, they were part of that series. In international markets, Jaleco renamed each game and censored it to pieces. Nowadays, however, a fourth game called RUSHING BEAT X: Return of the Brawl Brothers is in the works for Steam and Switch 2 from City Connection and Clear River Games. Like its predecessors, Rushing Beat X will support 2-player local co-op, and it's extremely promising," says Co-Optimus.
Digital Foundry : Doom: The Dark Ages is now receiving its path tracing upgrade on PC, so Alex and John tested it versus the standard RT graphics - and found some surprises.
The PC version is still on schedule but the console versions have been delayed.
The Switch leads *console* interest, with 45%; but the highest interest is PC, with 60%. I'm happy to see that.
Could be alot of these devs have already released their games on the other consoles. The other consoles have been out for some time before the switch.
Makes sense. It's the newest console. Has the most potential for growth right now. And offers innovation the others cannot match in a single package.
I hope those developers make the effort to actually provide quality releases, instead of downloading part of the game with a physical package or not even releasing the game physically in the U.S. (looking at you, Capcom. Both Beat Em Up Collection and Onimusha didn't get U.S. physical editions but in Japan they did)
But yet the switch is missing so many big named 3rd party games..
