Video game released 'without an ending'

Highly anticipated game Kingdom Hearts 3 has been launched with a twist - the ending comes separately. The move was made to prevent spoilers from leaked versions of the long-awaited sequel.The epilogue is downloaded only once the 40 hours of game-play is completed.

They did that to prevent spoilers when people snag it early. Sunday and Monday there were 50 to a two hundred ps4 streams going on (depending on the time)... Cabt spoil the ending if it launched when the game comes out.

Who cares? It's easy to avoid spoilers. I have managed it throughout all of the years I have been playing games, It's not hard. If you want to avoid spoilers, why the hell would you watch somebody stream gameplay.

Because Square shipped a game without an ending. Reviews are for people who would like to know what they are paying for.

Edit: Also the epilogue is just a teaser for the next KH game. Glorified commercials should not be accounted for if Square doesn't want to provide them at launch.

I know. But these people wanted to call it an ending, so I explained it to them using their own termonology. I even said that the epilogue is a glorified trailer. So is the secret movie.

This is one of those moments where you can't tell if the ending removed is a legit reason; or an excuse that was last minute thought of because the ending wasn't ready.

Or because they announced ahead of time that copies leaked several weeks in advance. Luckily they figured it would happen and put the ending as a update after release.

Yeah, because you just throw together a complete movie ending in about a month or so from the time it goes gold, to release.

I'm not for them leaving the content out, but the content in the ending was probably done well before the game went gold. Unless it's a playable ending, in which case, it would still take more than 4-6 weeks go complete or finish, so its more likely it was planned.

It's, what happens when the servers that dish out this tacked on bit inevitably are shut down?

Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. For you to play this entire game to the very end, your gaming system needs to be online. Not cool, and I don't give a damn about the reason.

Plenty of games launch now with significant bugs that require large day one patches. Without internet, you get an unfinished version of the game. In this case, it's only different in the sense that the story is unfinished, rather than the gameplay.

Im not asking for me, but ive worked at a local game store for 5years and about half the people that come here just straight up don't have internet. You only gotta drive 15mins in either direction from where i live and theres no more internet, and barely any cell service. Yet there are TONS of kingdom hearts fans here. And even of the people that do, about 1/3rd of them are on very slow very limited data as there are random sections in town where you can only get up to 2mb/s and youre only allowed 2gb a month before you get charged up the ass. They could have came up with a more elegant solution to this like just tying it to you systems clock/calendar to unlock the ending in release day.

WAIT A SECOND, so if you buy the physical disc,it doesn't come with the ending? This will push people to buy the digital version, I mean what's the point then . what if this becomes the norm, and they start releasing incomplete physical editions of final fantasy? I'll buy the game when it's dirt cheap or second hand .
