This game will surprise everyone.

I'm really REALLY hoping it does, it's another one of those rare things where in paper it sounds like i should be losing my sh!t over this game, yet the more i see of it the more i feel like i don't want anything to do with it. I want to be wrong about this game, cause if it's good it's gonna be REAL GOOD, but if not it's going to be mind numbingly mediocre

Yeah I really want this game to be good. I will be doing the Origin Premier pass to play it. I loved the idea of Destiny but nothing much came of it. So if Bioware can realize fully what Bungie was intending with Destiny it could be amazing.

It would be a situation where Epic was able to fully implement for the PubG developers was trying to do in Battle Royale space.

No it wont its ea will be trash

Chris_Wray1912d ago

Yeah, it's things we've heard countless times before. If it actually is something that special, great!

Double_O_Revan1912d ago

You know, we heard this from Bioware not too long ago. They said all these great thing about their upcoming game and how special it was going to be. Then we got Mass Effect Andromeda...

PhantomS421911d ago

And before that, it was Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age Inquisition. It's a never-ending pattern of overhype and disappointment.

@PhantomS42
Dragon Age 2 had a awesome story. The reason why most people didn't like DA2 was because of copy/paste dungeons and the game being limited to just a single city. When compared to DA Origins, we had multiple locations across all of Fereldan.

Mass Effect 3 also had a pretty good story, at least untill the final act, that's when it started to suck hardcore balls and went to shit. Because all of us had hoped our choices in the trilogy would give us each a different and unique ending. But the endings were all the same.

Dragon Age Inquisition for most part was pretty good. I think main problem with it was they focused TOOO much exploration/fetch quests and that made long intervals in the main quest to the point you start to lose focus and immersion. The final expansion Tresspasser has arguably one of the best written/story in Bioware games.

Andromeda had a lot of same problems as Inquistion, they focused too much on exploration and fetch quests. Except this time the main story is just too boring. It doesn't grab your attention very well and the characters arnt interesting enough.

As for Anthem, from the gameplay ive seen, especially the Fort Tartis.. it looks like shit. There's no way in hell you can tell me Anthem is going to have a good engaging story when it feels more like Destiny/Division than classic Bioware.

Chaosdreams1912d ago

If I hear that the story is actually amazing, I'll pick this up.

TK-551911d ago

I'm hoping the lore is good too. One of the things I feel Destiny real failed on was striking a balance in "believability" when it came to the technology and the magic of the characters. Anthem I feel has managed to strike a good balance of it by the looks for things.

In terms of the narrative of the game though I'm expecting something decent. I feel like a few questions may go unanswered but this is a game that's probably going to have some story expansions so as long as they continuously release those and price it fairly then I think its fine. Nothing spectacular but something that's at least worth your time.

Fingers crossed. If this fails then Bioware takes one step closer to being shutdown.

Completely agree with everything you said! Also, they built the game engine in a way to be able to constantly change the world. It was mentioned by one of the devs that instead of having to wait for huge expansions, they're going to throw in small story elements frequently to keep everything fresh.
And DLC is completely free! There are MTXs for cosmetics, but no pay-to-win. Hopefully us gamers can support BioWare(Fxck EA) so they can turn this game into something we've been needing from them for a long time now.

Stark? Was that a Tony Stark joke, because the javelins fly like Iron Man

ShadowWolf7121912d ago

No. No, it was not. It's saying there's a complete, major difference.
