The Pokeball Plus ruined Pokemon Let’s Go

The Pokeball plus is an interesting little gadget. It does a good job of doing what it is designed to, however some of its more functional features actually take away from the "Pokemon" experience that resides in the shell of a watered-down Let's Go game. Why does it ruin the game? Check out the latest Episode on Dumbbells and Joysticks, powered by ThisGenGaming.com!

What drove me away from the little ball was if you delete your save file you lose mew that to me I didn't like.

VirtualKatz2310d ago

That is a tough reality. It really is a good controller just makes the game too easy. Other than that it really is a solid device. Thanks for the comment!

Just like any older game, if you stupidly delete your file with event Pokemon on it then you lose them. Have you never played a Pokemon game before?

RosweeSon2309d ago

Yeah 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷 🏻‍♂️😜

RosweeSon2309d ago

Like you would lose any legendary received via WiFi or code if you delete your save file so what’s different 🤷🏻‍♂️✌🏻 ;

DeadManMMX2310d ago

That was a gimmick for kids. As an adult you don't need it but it was still a cool little gimmick.

VirtualKatz2310d ago

You don't. I find it just a little too small in my hand. Though it does work really well for the game as a controller. Thanks for the comment!

There is no doubt it will around for the next Gen this fall. Maybe they will make even better use of its technology.

VirtualKatz2310d ago

I would agree. This isn't just a one hit wonder. Thanks for the comment!

ZeekQuattro2310d ago

I didn't buy one but I have friends that did. Though they bought it for Pokemon 2019 more so than for Let Go. It is a nice novelty item I have to admit.

VirtualKatz2309d ago

Hopefully it works with it! There is definitely a certain nostalgic feel when using it! Thanks for the comment

Xaevi2310d ago

How I would personally like it to be is essentially a tamagotchi egg without a screen or cleaning up poké poop, just add more functionality to it. Hopefully it works with this year's game

VirtualKatz2309d ago

I can see that being a better use but probably would be more expensive. Would you pay more for something like this? Thanks for the comment!

Is anyone expecting anything less? It will be exclusive to Switch 2 eventhough it will still look like a 3DS game

Inverno23d ago

I think the 3DS games look better than anything GF released on Switch.

--Onilink--23d ago

To be fair, The Pokemon Company operates quite independently, so it wouldn’t have been that strange for a Pokemon game coming out in just the 2nd year of the S2’s life to still be crossgen. I mean, just how long into the PS5 and SX life are we and we are still seeing plenty of crossgen stuff

gold_drake23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

not surprised.

nintendo was prepared to have some games sell the console.

im sure the game will still look like its from the ps2 era tho.

coldfire98422d ago

that is in part because of the chip shortage when everyone over reacted to sars in 2019.

Kosic23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

I've lost interest in pokemon, the mega evolve stuff was a poor digimon rip off, then the stuttering mess the 3d versions are.
I'd love a remake of gold/silver in a top down view like lets go pikachu had, but sticking with the traditional pokemon mechanics.

CrimsonWing6922d ago

Uh, yea, that’s how console generations are supposed to work…
