The Pokeball plus is an interesting little gadget. It does a good job of doing what it is designed to, however some of its more functional features actually take away from the "Pokemon" experience that resides in the shell of a watered-down Let's Go game. I didn't buy one but I have friends that did. Though they bought it for Pokemon 2019 more so than for Let Go. It is a nice novelty item I have to admit.
How I would personally like it to be is essentially a tamagotchi egg without a screen or cleaning up poké poop, just add more functionality to it. Hopefully it works with this year's game
