Ace Combat 7 in VR is phenomenal (if you have the stomach for it)

Ian Higton: "Ian's been high as a kite after playing Ace Combat 7 VR gameplay for this week's Ian's VR Corner! Ace Combat 7 PSVR gameplay is incredibly intense, but if you have the stomach for it you're in for an incredible, immersive ride that'll make you feel like you're Tom Cruise in Top Gun!"

That looks like an awesome experience! and you don't need to spend like 2000 dlls for it!.

Playstation FTW!!!

Neonridr2351d ago (Edited 2351d ago )

the minimum requirements for either the Vive or Rift is nowhere near a $2000 setup (including your PC). I understand it's cheaper to go the PSVR route, but let's not act ridiculous here. The Rift is barely more expensive than the PSVR currently.

That being said, this is the only place to enjoy AC7 in VR, so naturally I picked it up for my Pro. Can't wait to try it out, just waiting for my flight stick to arrive (I wanted full realism here).

SamPao2350d ago

2k might be a bit over the top, but you will definately have to spend more than 1k

Neonridr2350d ago

@SamPao - you only need a mid range i5 with a GTX 970. Not exactly breaking the bank.

mastershredder2350d ago

Feels like a flight sim to me. Not sure why I’d feel like Tom Cruise because he’s an actor. Unless you felt like him (the actor) acting inside of a plane cockpit, which is not what we are doing here. So easiy influenced by visuals ....

Leeroyw2350d ago

Can't wait. Day one. I've used my VR more and more lately. Kids and adults love it when they come over.

salmonade2350d ago

Wow !!! Just think, the next game will give you the option to play the whole game ALL in VR I'm sure. VR is amazing.

JonTheGod2350d ago

I'll wait for AC8 when I can play the whole game in VR, thanks.

Literally, the vast majority of these games aren't flight simulators. Don't write about what you don't know.

Luc20162d ago

Great game but too difficult. Couldn't finish it and moved on.

sinjonezp162d ago

I am with you. By mission 17 my mind was checking out. However.....Can we get a new one by now?

Luc20161d ago

Well done getting that far! I think I made it to chapter 7 or 8. That bloody timer! Would play this game more if it was a bit easier. I might try again sometime see if I got better

strifeblade161d ago (Edited 161d ago )

Generation is too soft. Game was not difficult by my memory. Great and fair challenge.

Gamist2dot0161d ago

Wwwwut?... Did you use same jet throughout the whole game???

FinalFantasyFanatic161d ago

I struggled too, I didn't get very far, I can't remember if the previous games were even this hard.

An excellent game, one of my favorites in recent memory. I only wish they made the VR mode span the entire campaign instead of a few select missions. And that they updated it for PS5/PSVR2, the resolution quite sucked in PSVR1.

ApocalypseShadow161d ago

Agreed. They could have sold a whole lot more units for VR users. To this day, I still go back and play those few missions. Stopped caring about the main game because I got so used to playing in VR. PC VR users would have bought copies as well.

TheColbertinator161d ago

Hopefully we get 8 or a remake of earlier entries.

Not even available physically in the US apparently. Good job Namco

jznrpg340d ago

That’s always disappointing

Sgt_Slaughter340d ago

Namco/Capcom/Square are notorious for skipping the US for physical releases of some games and it's always a disappointment. It's much easier to import nowadays, but we shouldn't have to resort to that.

jznrpg340d ago

Fun game. They should have made a PSVR 2 port as well.

Snookies12340d ago (Edited 340d ago )

I honestly thought it did have PSVR 2 support, but was sadly mistaken. I was excited to check this out when I bought mine. It is so incredibly stupid that Sony hasn't figured out some way to bring VR 1 games to VR 2. Especially when they're barely giving VR 2 any support as it is.
