Tbh them numbers are not anywhere near as bad as people have tried to make them. Wasn't kinect and the new designed xbox out now? That shipped alot of 360s and to only be 5 million behind with a very bad start according to everyone. If anything it shows the work microsoft have done to get the numbers up there.

Livingthedream32d ago

Not only that but according to many peeps, many of the xbox 360 sales were replacements. Who know either way not bad numbers.

The xbox1 started out better than the 360. Microsoft used to say it was their fastest selling console.

mcstorm32d ago

@livingthedream this is true not matter what the sales where people will always find ways to down play them @fghfghfgh this is true but what people seem to forget is there was 8 years between the 360 and xbox one so alot of people wanted a new console and jumped. But I get what your saying.

Wasn't the Xbox One X the most powerful thing ever made on planet Earth and was going to change everything? Looks like the useless Kinect had more of an impact on the Xb360 than the Xbox One X had on Xbox One.

@spinesaw don't sound like a fan boy at all.

It’ll be difficult for Microsoft to reach the commercial highs that Xbox 360 reached going forward with their consoles

With this generation ending soon I highly doubt that they can get close to the 360s final sales numbers. Hopefully they do better next gen.

The popularity of kinect help Xbox 360 strong growth in mid gen and late gen.

That's true and its funny how the Kinect did the opposite for the Xbox One. But i'm guessing that's because gamer's saw how bad Kinect was for gaming which is why they didn't want it bundled with the Xbox One because it meant paying extra for an accessory that many didn't want in the first place. In my opinion Microsoft should have just sold an inexpensive camera separately for those that wanted basic voice chat and video communication features like what Sony does with the PlayStation eye.
