It's very interesting seeing games like this, including others like Past Cure and Dollhouse, suddenly recieve updates, some even overhaul the entire game.

On one hand, I appreciate their dedication. On the other hand, it does feel random, especially when, well, did the game sold that well?

Crapdown 3 can't be the most desapointing game of 2019, the first two were crap, and everybody saw that the 3 was crap even before it launched.

akaFullMetal1729d ago

It was hyped up since 2015 and extra hyped regarding cloud gaming by Microsoft. Then it came out as no different than any other game that can be run locally in hardware and no additional perks with the cloud gaming such as physics and debris.

Segata1729d ago

2014. 2014 is the year MS announced a bunch of future canceled games and Crackdown 3 rofl.

Concertoine1729d ago

It had some hype behind it when it was announced, but i think by 2017 it became apparent that something was seriously wrong with development.

darthv721729d ago

I dont know about anyone else but I'm finding CD3 to be FUN AF!!! I'm glad I didnt buy into the whole cloud power thing but I can see how others may have been turned off by it. If you go into the game with no expectations other than to have fun... you find it really is fun.

nibblo1729d ago

It was a very fun game, finished it in 3 sittings which is very rare for me. People who hate on it probably never played it.

jwillj2k41729d ago

Yes, if you go into the game having no internet connectivity for the past 5 years you will come out thinking its a solid 6/10.

Concertoine1729d ago

Its funny, when it was first announced i was hyped, then the bad press and apparent downgrades made my expectations so low that when i played it i thought it was alright.

If the singleplayer portion of the game launched with the xbone, it would've been a really good launch title. Instead it took 6 years though...

mandingo1729d ago

The first two were not crap mind you. But yes everyone saw this one coming as a failure.

I never defended C3. It was fun but it was terrible based on how long it took them to make the game

darren_poolies1728d ago

Disagree. I thought the original Crackdown was great it was one of the most fun games I played last gen.

nowitzki20041728d ago (Edited 1728d ago )

First one was great, second was was crap and killed my love for franchise. 3rd was the turd 1

Anthem where you buy the game, then later buy the content.

From day one reveal at E3 I never saw the hype and appeal for this game, seems I was right.

Rimeskeem1729d ago

EA, where they sell you 1/3rd of the game at launch for full price then sell you everything else as "surprise mechanics"

Blu3_Berry1729d ago

I felt the same. When they revealed Anthem, I had the feeling of "it's too good to be true". My gut was saying don't believe it and fall for the hype. So glad I never fell into the hype for it.

spektical1729d ago

i dont think kh3 is a bad game.... its just not what it was. Or maybe it took just way too long for it to become.. boring?

nommers1729d ago

I don't understand anybody's offbeat expectations on the game. It came out almost exactly like any other KH game past KH1. It even had improvements in areas like the camera and more in depth worlds.

Juusterey1728d ago

But if it came out like a game after, they were all handheld games
if that was the case i'd easily understand
I can get it though
people wanted a grander story and conclusion

NecrumOddBoy1728d ago

KH has like 15 games across almost every platform known to man (including a Nokia) and the story can't help moving further off the rails. 3 was fun gameplay wise but was barren on content with trash pacing.

Spoiler Alert: and they still give us multiple post-game "secret" cutscenes that put the story in more turmoil.

I am far less interested than ever before. KH4 will take 10 years and I don't think that I can even care at this point.

nommers1728d ago

It has been well known for a long time that the series has a lot of games across different platforms and a confusing storyline. The series became confusing enough starting at kh2. You know, the most liked one.

Checklist:
-Post credit scene continuing the franchise in the future
-Confusing storyline
-Button mashing gameplay

It’s almost like the people playing the game weren’t expecting a kh game.

Juusterey1728d ago

Not to mention the mobile game
after finally having everything on one console for the first time

S.O.N (PS4) Review | GamePitt

Kieran writes: S.O.N, or South of Nowhere as it stands for, is a first attempt at a psychological horror game by RedG Studios, exclusive to the PlayStation 4. It’s the studio’s first game and since being announced last year, the development has undergone some issues, but we now finally have the finished product.

The game takes about an hour to complete and takes place in an infamous forest known as ‘Clarencaster’, where hundreds of people have gone missing.

As Robert Alderson, you must enter the area known as ‘South of Nowhere’, a hideously dangerous part of the forest, home to caves with evil secrets.

I liked this game but yeah the run button placement was sort of a drag and like the review stated, there was times I had no idea what I was even looking for and when things finally got going the game was over. If there's any disappointing aspect about this it was that I paid $19.99 for it so I would wait for a huge discount before buying it. Besides. Rating this on a scale of 1 - 10 and giving a 3.5 is ridiculous. I'd say a C for effort. It had potential, just didn't expand on it that much.

rob-GP1796d ago

I can’t really talk about the score, as it was my colleague who reviewed it, but I know he didn’t have fun playing it. It had potential to be something much better but there were too many things which ruined the experience for him.

I know he’s a big horror fan, which is why I gave it him to review, but he’s not a fan of walking simulation (terrible description) games which don’t really explain what your doing or make things very clear. So that may have affected his judgement as well. However, scores are all based on opinion, hopefully people will read the text and decide for themselves if it’s something the like the sound of.
