Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown discounted on PS4 and Xbox One

Amazon has discounted Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown to $53.55 on PS4 and Xbox One.

Because it's retail, games go on sale pretty quickly unless it's something like RDR2 or something in that vein. Also keep in mind as great as Ace Combat is, it's not a franchise that will ever fly off shelves Amazon might have just ordered to many.

...however, the digital version remains at $60..you would think digital would be and should be cheaper for all games really...but ala's that's not the case. ...still at $52 it's not a bad deal considering you get ace combat 5 for ps, and ace combat 6 for xbox included.

Fairly sure sony has to keep online games at the same price or higher as brick and mortar stores so the games still sell and are carried by retail chains

that's not the point. the point was that because there are no manufacturing costs or distribution costs everyone was expecting digital games to be cheaper than physical games.

when new games began to go digital people bought them at that $60 price anyway instead of boycotting by not buying, it essentially gave publishers no reason to reduce the price, all the while giving them a much larger margin of profit than physical distribution.
regardless, stats have shown that digital purchases are surpassing physical year over year so we won't be seeing cheaper new AAA digital games anytime soon...not counting typical sales that is.
