Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Review [Gadgets 360]

Gadgets 360 says: "As for the game on the Nintendo Switch? It looks not too dissimilar from the game's original Xbox 360 release in docked mode. When hooked up to a big screen, it has a softer image versus the PS4 version of Tales of Vesperia while the frame rate in combat appears to be lower too. All things such as the Nintendo Switch's underpowered internals considered, it's passable when you're playing it in docked mode.

In handheld mode, however, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition appears blurry at times, which definitely takes away from the experience. With the game not having any PS4 Pro-specific enhancements, we'd recommend Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition on either of Sony's consoles, rather than the Nintendo Switch, unless you'd be playing it on a TV and not in handheld mode on Nintendo's console."

How does this game look softer on the Switch? It's 1080p on PS4, XB1 and Switch .
The Switch and XB1 version are 30fps in battle , the PS4 version is 60fps.

I'll take the Switch version with portability, any day.

Man, I'm dying to play this in portability with my Switch. I'll miss my PSN trophies, but jrpgs these days I just have to play on the go. They're such time sinks that I want to drop in, drop out wherever I happen to be. (Sony, give us another handheld please! I know it probably won't happen though)

Preloaded, ready to go in less than 2 days! :)

Completely agree. The only reason I'm taking the switch version is because I know how much time it would take and I'm never home so it would never get finished. I'm playing through kingdom hearts collection through remote play on the Vita for the same reason. I don't mind downgraded performance as long as it's stable.

Yea Outlawzz, I'll continue to get multiplatforms "core" gaming on PS4, with the occasional PC one, but Switch has become my favorite place for JRPGs. They're usually not that graphically demanding to matter that much in the difference. I barely use my Switch in docked mode, just handheld. I never picked up Dragon Quest XI, and despite the obvious higher graphical quality on that particular one, the Switch one still looks good enough. Quite amazing if you think of handheld standards, which is how I view the system. I'm also still playing my Vita and probably still will for quite a while.

Why downvotes?

Bandai came out and said what resolution the game is on all platforms (1080p) so this article stating the Switch version looks softer on the TV is innacurate.

It's free on ps plus collection

I honestly don't have PS Plus lol. I mainly play on PC, so I don't bother paying for online.

I just buy PS4/PS5 exclusives either day one, or when I get a good deal on them.
