“The waitb”

Lol

Also there’s a PC tag in this article when this game hasn’t been announced for that platform

-Foxtrot2324d ago

Ticks me off when they do cool shit for promos or preorders yet the actual collectors edition is so average for a big game like this.

gamer78042324d ago

agreed, I just preordered the regular edition, steel case does nothing for me, in fact I like the regular case artwork better. At least I'll get the fabric poster I guess. Would have been cool to see a figurine or something.

-Foxtrot2324d ago (Edited 2324d ago )

I love Steelbooks but the artwork is so boring, Steelbooks need to have better artwork then the standard retail box otherwise it's pointless...hell a lot of the standard box art would be just as good on a steelbook. These says developers are getting lazy.

There is a collectors edition with a statue of sorts, more like figurines but it's not really a collectors edition, more like a bundle as it's still the basic limited edition with the steelbook but you get the figurines in a separate box with your purchase.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media...

You'd think they'd go all big for this one and make a replica Keyblade or something. It's sad when the 1.5 and 2.5 remix got a better looking collectors edition with a way better steelbook

Platformgamer2324d ago

this game misses two things:
-the official strategy guide book existence
-the announcment that it will come out jan 25 in NA/EU too

89 million Steam account details allegedly leaked, but no one seems to know how

A LinkedIn post from Underdark AI made the discovery, stating that datasets are being sold for over $5,000 on a known black market forum.

Cockney1d 18h ago

Biggest hack in gaming history if true

Christopher1d 16h ago

No personal details, mostly account names, no passwords. Likely would need other account leaks to hope that someone reuses a password with a similar account name on another already leaked service. While a lot of users, the data is useless. Kind of notably by the $5k request for the data.

Profchaos4h ago(Edited 4h ago)

You don't remember the psn hack I take it

BlueDaBaDee12h ago

Update:
"Valve has now confirmed that “this was NOT a breach of Steam systems” and users do not need to change their passwords as a result. However, it continues to recommend that you set up the Steam Mobile authenticator for extra security."

Fishy Fingers12h ago

Shame. I liked the idea someone paid 5 grand just for my silly steam name.

DivineHand12512h ago

The government needs a taskforce with serious fundung that can opporate across borders to go after cyber criminals.

It is getting out of hand and it is the regular citizens of the world that suffer the consequences of these hacks and breaches.

My fear is that if left unchecked, state sponsored hackers from corrupt or governents under sections may use this as a method of raising revenue at the expense of everyone else.

Fishy Fingers12h ago

Bro teeing up a Mission Impossible movie.

ZeekQuattro10h ago

Not in this administration. If anything hes been dissolving existing task forces meant to protect consumers.

Amplitude8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

Why? They’d just use the funding to funnel hundred of millions of dollars into fake NGOs that then funnel it into democrat pockets while doing zero cyber criminal defence work.

Then if anybody tried to defund them it’d be a whole thing with the mainstream media claiming that there will be endless cyber attacks. NGOs would then fund protest groups to attack anybody that supports defunding the government’s cyber attack defence branch and then it would turn out it was also being used to stabilize or destabilize governments in other countries and overthrow elections to benefit America. Which is fine until they start using it on us again.

Let’s just not. Private companies who know what they’re doing (Valve) can deal with it

RIP USAID. God bless

Profchaos4h ago(Edited 4h ago)

It's not a may use this not we know state sponsored attacks do this already.

It's a global problem you couldn't have one government playing world police it would require joint collaboration with foreign governments and the problem is many laws have not kept pace with advancement of technology.

even then it's hard to say with certainty if an attack was a state sponsored attacks or a cybercriminal group operating outside of governments

remember when certain groups were saying PC gamers don’t want other subscriptions because it was not safe and steam was the spot lol.

Shiore2u10h ago

No. Don't recall that. You know the voices in your head aren't real right?

pwnmaster30009h ago

I mean you can say that all you want but it’s the truth. Most recent one I saw was a whole bunch of you PC gamers bitching about having a PSN account and one of the arguments was how it’s not secure enough lol.

Shiore2u8h ago

@pwnmaster3000 Real or not it must have really got under your skin to keep talking about it. Why so touchy?

pwnmaster30007h ago

Two comments and I keep talking about it lmao.
Look you must be new to conversations but this is how it goes. You talk to me and I respond back.
Very simple and with practice maybe you would be good to ☺️ cheers mate.

Shiore2u7h ago(Edited 7h ago)

@pwnmaster3000 It's just a question, stop being so touchy.

(hopefully you figure out the irony by now, I can't be anymore obvious with the goading)

pwnmaster30005h ago

What you using the word “touchy”? What about it?
And yes it was a question and I answered. Do you not like getting responses back lol.

it's time to riot, right, pc gamers??

pwnmaster30009h ago

Be careful, PC gamers are the most touchy out of the gamers lol

@badz149
@pwnmaster3000
Have you guys actually read what was «leaked»? It was SMS messages from 3rd party provider (not from Steam itself) with one-time 2FA codes (that are active for 15 minutes). No Steam account details, access to an account or any of that jazz.

Let me quote official Steam response:
«The leak consisted of older text messages that included one-time codes that were only valid for 15-minute time frames and the phone numbers they were sent to. The leaked data did not associate the phone numbers with a Steam account, password information, payment information or other personal data. Old text messages cannot be used to breach the security of your Steam account, and whenever a code is used to change your Steam email or password using SMS, you will receive a confirmation via email and/or Steam secure messages.»
Source: https://store.steampowered....

The only bad thing about this is the phone numbers. But while that sucks, attacker doesn't know which Steam account this phone number belongs to. IMO, the only thing people should be rioting about is how unprotected the SMS are and the 3rd party service that was used by Steam. I'm all for punishing people who screwed up and/or lacked the security. But this is not it.

dont think itll happen because of COQ. it costs as much as gaming consoles that are way better in a lot of ways and nintendo normally thrives on selling cheaper hardware than the competition. i believe that because the switch 2 and the games are so expensive and are far inferior to better versions available for the same price or cheaper on better gaming consoles that gamers would rather get a better value for their money and buy something better than the switch 2. the switch 2 can do a lot better if it isnt expensive and the games are cheaper.

Muigi15h ago

Yeah but I can’t play my PS5 Pro on a plane or the subway.

Neonridr11h ago

don't worry, they'll tell you to buy a $300 accessory on top of the console so you can "stream" it to play it. (subject to network capabilities of course)

MrNinosan11h ago

@Neonridr
The Playstation Portal is amazing, but if you don't want to spend the 300$, just use your phone or tablet that you probably own already

jznrpg8h ago

@MrNinosan it’s 199$ for Portal

MrNinosan7h ago

@jznrpg
Might be, I just answered to his bullshit comment.
As I live in Sweden, I paid way more for my Portal, around 350$ at release, but still use it daily at work and in my bed, so well invested 👍

Neonridr11h ago

*costs as much currently.

We've already seen MS have to adjust the price of their consoles, and it's possible Sony could follow suit.

And your definition of "far inferior" is subjective to the end-user. Can I take my PS5 Pro version of the game with me on the go? No.

Dhika4h ago(Edited 4h ago)

Hahaha. We'll see. I'm not keen on seeing you moving goal posts as usual lol.

darthv7215h ago

Pretty ambitious... it could be done so long as they lower the price of the games and the system to something more reasonable.

jznrpg15h ago

Least exciting Nintendo launch for me.

MrNinosan11h ago

First console I won't buy at release since the original NES.

repsahj10h ago

Not me. I am excited as when I first bought my Mario Odyssey bundle Switch 1.

MrNinosan7h ago

Because of Mario Kart?
Or what is it that excites you?

repsahj6h ago

Because of everything Switch 2, I am very impressed with what I am seeing so far. And because 3 of my friends who I play Helldivers 2 with will also get it. We will all be getting the Mario Kart World bundle.

Elda14h ago

For me...I beg to differ it's an important launch knowing it's not launching with any interesting exclusives except the $80 Mario Kart & I'm not into racers. Until I see some interesting Switch 2 exclusives that I think are a must play I can wait as long as possible before obtaining a Switch 2.

Neonridr11h ago

While I'm getting MK at launch, I'm actually most interested in Donkey Kong. I love the destructible environments.

NotoriousWhiz9h ago

I'm most interested in trying out cyberpunk with mouse controls. If they work really well, Switch 2 may be my console of choice for shooters.

MrNinosan7h ago

Couldn't you try that on PC for the last 5+ years?

NotoriousWhiz4m ago

^ I don't game at a desk and am not interested in using one of those lap desk things. My only "gaming computer" is a steam deck.

neutralgamer199213h ago

I’ve seen a lot of people projecting that the Switch 2 will sell over 100 million units by 2029. While I understand the optimism—especially considering the original Switch’s success—I think those numbers might be overlooking the current state of the market and how much it’s shifted.

First off, we need to stop using early sellouts or pre-order hype as a reliable indicator of long-term success. Every major console that’s launched in the last 25 years has sold out during its pre-order window. Even consoles that were ultimately considered commercial disappointments—like the Wii U—sold out at launch. The PS3, which launched at a hefty $600 back in 2007, still had people lining up. That early rush is almost always driven by the core gaming audience, not the mass market. The real test comes after that honeymoon phase, when sales depend on casual gamers and broader adoption.

And that’s where things get trickier now.

The gaming landscape has changed dramatically. Mobile gaming has completely taken over in terms of both revenue and number of players. It’s bigger than console and PC gaming combined, and it's still growing. That makes sense when you think about it: everyone already has a phone, and many have tablets too. Pair that with a Bluetooth controller and you’ve got a portable, high-quality gaming experience with almost no extra cost.

Consoles and gaming PCs, on the other hand, require a substantial investment just to get started. When money is tighter for a lot of households and the average consumer is more price-conscious, it becomes harder to justify spending $400–600+ on a single-use gaming device—especially when they already own something that plays games well enough.

I’m not saying the Switch 2 won’t be successful. Nintendo has a strong brand and a loyal fanbase. But I do think people are underestimating how much harder it is today to move that kind of hardware volume. The market’s more competitive, more fragmented, and more mobile than ever before

Neonridr11h ago

I fully expect the Switch 2 to sell 100M units. But to say it'll do it within 4 years is a big ask.
