Here is what a modern-day remake of the first Max Payne game could have looked like

John from DSOGaming writes: "Wojciech Chalinski, Environment artist at Bulkhead Interactive, has been experimenting with Unreal Engine and created a map inspired by Remedy’s classic Max Payne game. From the looks of it, Chalinski has used Unreal Engine and has recreated the Roscoe Street Station from the game."

OMG..! Yes Please, but why not Max Payne 3 too... I loved the multi-player in that, it was broke as hell and had a lot of problems but man was it fun to play.. (if a Max Payne remaster edition came out I would buy it in a second)

FPS_D3TH2309d ago

Same here. Here’s hoping it happens. Haven’t played another game I’ve had as much fun in as Max Payne 3s multiplayer. The slo mo shoot dodge was something else!

Seraphim2309d ago

Max Payne 3 was already in HD so you'd think it would be relatively easy to polish it up for a Remaster. Oddly enough I was thinking about the Max Payne series a month or two back wishing they'd Remake 1. I'm itching for Max Payne. Though in todays climate would popping pain killers for health fly?

Rhezin2309d ago

Man I miss Max Payne. I loved 1 and 2, never did get around to playing 3.

Fist4achin2308d ago

Highly recommend 3. You could find it on the cheap now too.

ApocalypseShadow2309d ago

I blinked and the video was over. Lol!

Would love a remaster of Max Payne 1 and 2. With the option for the Kung Fu Mod.

Profchaos2309d ago

I'd love a updated collection with all 3 games at some point I must of replayed 3 at least 10 times but also 1 and 2 and still classics

Fist4achin2308d ago

Im in if they were to push them out again. They woould look amazing on current generation consoles if done right.

I hope it will deliver.. we deserve a good Max Payne remake

HansyJ159d ago

We deserve nothing, but the legacy of Max pain deserves it

Cacabunga158d ago

Max Payne fans deserve a good remake. Maybe that is more clear

The_Blue158d ago

' but the legacy of Max pain deserves it"
The Max Payne legacy deserves it.

SoloZelot90158d ago

Okay...so something digital deserves it but something real doesn't?

DarXyde158d ago

I'm not much of a Remedy gamer beyond Alan Wake, but I can't say I've ever heard anyone complain about the quality of the product, whether we like the game or not.

CrimsonWing69159d ago

Um, I’d think that should go without saying… but glad they’re committed to making the quality excellent as opposed to, uh, not.

Gamingsince1981159d ago

Yeah it's kinda weird for them to say that and redundant.

DodoDojo158d ago

Its because they know that they lost trust with the GTA trilogy.

CrimsonWing69158d ago (Edited 158d ago )

I don’t think Remedy had anything to do with that. I get you’re referring to a publisher, but you wouldn’t think a developer would be reassuring people about their game when a different developer made a game that dropped the ball that’s under the same publishing umbrella.

Like, why would From Soft have to assure us that they’re game will be be striving for excellence if Namco Bandai is publishing and they’re referring to something like Unknown 9: Awakening?

This is just a weird statement no matter how you spin it, but also good to know.

jambola159d ago

oh.......thanks
"update, won't suck we hope" lol

VersusDMC159d ago

Well rockstar is paying the bills so they have to project confidence so it isn't cancelled.

What I'm wondering is who is going to voice Max since the og actor died or they are using the old VO like MGS3Remake.

Profchaos159d ago

Rockstar has always had a great relationship with remedy this isn't some new fly by night partnership they have worked together for 20 plus years now

VersusDMC159d ago

Max payne 2 was the last time they worked with rockstar in 2003. And it bombed.

Rockstar asked remedy to check out Max Payne 3 for notes but were not really involved.

So having worked on a project 20 years ago doesn't mean they have been working together for 20 plus years.

swedishMeatwad159d ago

Wow, breaking news! Developer aiming for excellent quality!

SoloZelot90158d ago

Considering some new releases that's good to hear. It is better than aiming for diversity and inclusion.

Well their not going to say it's doing terrible now are they lol

Demetrius176d ago (Edited 176d ago )

Playing max payne 2 on ps2 for the first time, lol this series definitely needs a remake. The gameplay is rough😅 still a good game tho I hope they keep that gritty feel to it.

RaidenBlack175d ago

My most anticipated remake(s)

isarai175d ago

Cant wait to see how this turns out. Max payne with Control's level of physics and destruction would be amazing. AND IT BETTER HAVE A PHYSICAL RELEASE

I agree

But rockstar is bringing back that ip about time now drag out a fix for those steam games that are using pirated versions like manhunt Rstar.

I hope this game does not turn out to be broken because it used a pirated version as a base.

Amplitude261d ago

Brother I have no idea what you're talking about

just_looken260d ago (Edited 260d ago )

@Amplitude

Right this is n4g......

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

https://x.com/__silent_/sta...

https://www.techspot.com/ne...

Or just look it up yourself

rockstar tossed out midnight club/manhunt/max payne 2 on steam they are all still unplayable but the community members that read the game files and know how to mod revealed they are original pc versions from cracked websites. Silent showed how one 2004 game still has the signature left from the crack team "razor".

Right now you can pay over $30usd for these games that have code/files from hackers/modders rockstar did nothing to make them work on modern system's but at the same time never bothered to fix the cracked version to stop the anti piracy measures they put in place therefor the games go hacker hacker alert then lockup. Oh the patch to go around the measures is out there on the www on the steam review page for the games people leave links to dump sites that still have the files to patch the game to make them work.

Tldr rockstar tossed 3 games out but they had hacker/modded files another team fixed there screwup so legit pay users half to use 3rd party who knows were/who made files to make there games work that they paid for.

badz149261d ago

they are yet to be profitable with AW2 but have 2 games under development? Remedy must thank that Fortnite money that they are still allowed to make games haha

Kingrizzy90261d ago

Is max Payne a remake for just 1 or both 1 and 2?

Dirty_Lemons261d ago

It's both games repackaged into one remake dude
