Awesome ray tracing is a feature in engines awesome

Purrfection1944d ago

GT Sport was already rendered at 8k so it's ready for next gen. It's going to look freaking insane. I think GT Sport remastered is going to be fairly early on the PS5 while they work on GT7.

Rude-ro1943d ago (Edited 1943d ago )

I do not think their vision is to remaster, but keep supporting.
The disagrees must be a certain fan base because what you stated is a fact. The game engine is brand new and their car modeling tools are one of a kind and being used by car manufactures.
The game engine can be scaled to 8k. It already is forward compatible.

To add, I am in no way saying that the ps5 will be 8k.. I am saying the engine is capable already and their engine building is on a whole other level.

"GT Sport remastered"

Trolling so early?

Babadook71943d ago

Cars are a great display for ray tracing because screen space reflections are always limited in scope.

ApocalypseShadow1944d ago (Edited 1944d ago )

GT should look pretty good for next Gen. Ray tracing, real time lighting, improved shadows, cars already ready for next Gen, hopefully photo grammetry, real time weather and day and night cycles along with improved physics.

Would also be awesome is if they can improve the quality in GT Sport for the VR mode on PS5 until PSVR 2 comes out. Since PSVR works quite well for head tracking and a racing wheel, only thing left would be the visual bump and added cars on track.

VR mode was disappointing it looked stunning but it was so limited

As far as I'm concerned Mark Cerny has been looking into making Ray-Tracing simple as far back as the ps4 reveal. It has at least been on his mind since then. Is it possible to make it for console? We will see.

stuckNhere4Good1943d ago (Edited 1943d ago )

Yes he has (for the doubters... https://www.youtube.com/wat... ), but I suspect PD's real-time ray tracing techniques aren't GPU-based.

It strikes me as infeasible for a hypothetical 8-12 TFLOP GPU in PS5 to be able to process real-time ray tracing at 60fps (120fps for VR) in native or non-native 4K, while also being burdened with the responsibility of processing CPU workloads (AI, animation, audio, physics simulations, physics interactions, etc.) in a fashion expected of a AAA 2nd or 3rd gen PS5 game...

Firebird3601943d ago

Ps5 and nextbox will be at minimum 12tf.

Can we get a forza horizon treatment to gan turismo?

xX-oldboy-Xx1944d ago

Nobody wants that, completely different games targeting completely different audiences.

Nitrowolf21943d ago (Edited 1943d ago )

“Nobody wants that”

I semi laugh at this, cause the big thing with Horizon is that it’s open world and the producer of Gran Turismo has said in the past that he’s wanted an open world style GT game but all while maintaining the sim portion of the game (following traffic lights, speed limits, ect)
http://www.mtv.com/news/246...
And there was rumors before hand that he was going with that approach
https://www.gtplanet.net/fo...

Truth be told, if they do provide and open world free style mode I wouldn’t want it to be like Horizon at all, and if anything more so of a mode geared towards photomode users with insanely detailed environments. A lot smaller than most open worlds

sinspirit1943d ago

I would want it. But, not as a Gran Turismo game. DriveClub definitely should have evolved into an open world game with the same importance on social functionality and the awesome weather system. I would love for them to collaborate with PD for car models and technological aspects.

xX-oldboy-Xx1943d ago

sinspirit gets it - not as a GT game, the game Nitrowolf2 has detailed and the one Kazunori outlined - sounds boring and would bomb in an instant.

The reason HORIZON went the arcade/ non-realistic route.

Kazunori is free to experiment and release whatever he wants, he's earned that. And I loved Moto Toon GP 2 and to this day want a sequel to it.

BehindTheRows1943d ago

Uh, no?

OT: GT has always been the tech pusher in driving games. Looking forward to GT7!

ILostMyMind1943d ago

Why not just play FH? Who plays GT wants to play GT.

shiva11943d ago

Who plays FH are already playing FH. Its GT which should be played or are awaiting.

Microsoft should have left them stay 3rd party

GamerRN9h ago

If they are let go, they can be whatever they want. They ARE 3rd party now... 🤦

Barlos6h ago

Yeah, they're also jobless.

peppeaccardo1h ago

"MIcrosoft leaves Bethesda do what they know how to do best" ... close! Oh the irony ....
(Citation from a week old article)

PassNextquestion11h ago(Edited 11h ago)

Bethesda France was made up of roughly 15 people... they couldn't of being doing much

Bethesda France mainly did publishing and marketing within the region

blacktiger9h ago

that's a shame for you to say that, i'm sure Elite loves hearing what you just said.

Profchaos11h ago(Edited 11h ago)

Bethesda France focused on publishing and marketing in the region. And 15 people lost their jobs as part of the closure.

I wonder if this is part of Microsoft's strategy to abandoned physical media or possibly gamepass advertising makes their roles redundant you don't need to market a game as hard when the majority of players get the game as part of a sub which already promoted upcoming games

Tacoboto10h ago

It's France too, there's a high likelihood only 1-2 people on the team even had an Xbox.

Profchaos10h ago

Possibly guven all the leaks we know the Xbox brand is really struggling in the region.

Yi-Long7h ago

Well, if your consoles and games are barely found in any stores any more, of course you're gonna struggle finding consumers ...

XiNatsuDragnel9h ago

Tbh Microsoft I think Bethesda being 3rd party same with Activision would probably more competitive than thus scenario imo

Profchaos8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

I think it would have been better for all parties really especially gamers

TheColbertinator9h ago

The recently purchased Activision French offices might take over all the licensing and marketing for Microsoft in France from now on.

I’m Glad Atlus & SE Changed Dates To Avoid Competing With Shadow Of The Erdtree

Saad from eXputer: "I'm glad I don't have to choose between Square Enix, Atlus, and FromSoftware due to bad release windows and Shadow of the Erdtree."

H91d 5h ago

More intelligent than guerilla games

raWfodog11h ago(Edited 11h ago)

Atlus is releasing their game one week before Erdtree, SE is releasing theirs one week after.

HZD released four days before Zelda, HFW released one week before Elden Ring.

It seems to me like they are still releasing their games too close to Erdtree.
