Ten most overlooked games of 2018

Tom Chick - "These are some great games you probably didn’t play this year! Which is a shame, because frankly, they should be on more top ten lists. Unfortunately, mine ran out of space, so I’m putting them here."

Clearly the author is biased towards strategy games. Dead cells and Red faction being the exceptions.

bigmalky1962d ago

Well, the genre is pretty ignored for all the flashy, shooty, explosive stuff.

Strange Brigade and KC:D, I wouldn't class as strategy games either. One is a co-op online shooter, and the other is a historical RPG.

Dead Cells was an indie hit, it was not overlooked, but these games were.

Strange Brigade

Omensight

Mothergunship

Shen Mue Remastered Collection

Iconoclasts

The Forest (on console)

Evasion (VR)

Boundless

OnRush

Gravel - an okay racer, but absolutely nobody bought this game. For a AAA-ish full retail arcade racer it sold nothing. Tracked at 50k physical on PS4.

Shadow of the Colossus - according to GameStats only 1.3 million people played this all-time great remake. Deserved better.

Chasm

Swords of Ditto

Omensight is pretty special. Just started it.

Seeing you mention on rush reminded me that I never claimed my ps plus for the month, so I have just done that in the knick of time. And I was also going to check out Iconoclasts from your list then I saw its another claimable from ps plus. Yippee and thanks! 👍

What do you think of OnRush?
My favourite from them is by far Motorstorm Pacific Rift, I tried onRush on PS+ but couldn't get into it.

I was about to buy a discounted kingdom come deliverance for ps4 but I read all over the internet that there's still game breaking bugs and saves disappearing even with the latest patch (only the pc version is currently ok). Can anyone confirm this? Thanks in advance

How the hell is Dead Cells overlooked? A bit overrated maybe,.. but definitely not overlooked,.. I am sure it sold well on just about every system.

qalpha1962d ago

Dead Cells is a lot of fun, but it has been promoted by just about everyone. It definitely wasn't overlooked.

Fritzwochel1961d ago

Yes Dead Cells was praised everywhere with good reason. I spent many many hours with it myself. Great game but I never could get past the final boss.

coolbeans1960d ago (Edited 1960d ago )

That wasn't on his list. I have changed it to appropriately match one of his choices.

Omensight

Mothergunship

Just Bought it Thank you after checking reviews alot people enjoyed it Worth Picking up for that Price.

Spenok24d ago

I already own the physical copy on PS4, and even bought it on Steam for my Steamdeck... but I went ahead and bought this as well. Because, why not?

Aussiesummer23d ago

If you just like wasting money sure.

Spenok23d ago

It's not wasting money, it's me supporting the developer, in hopes it helps them in the long run to continue making amazing games.

This one was certainly not a needed purchase. As for the Steam copy, I wanted to be able to take the game on the go, and it was on a good deal besides.

thesoftware73024d ago

Yeah, good price, saw this yesterday on SX as well
