Now that the event has been triggered, I can finally rebuild my nuclear arsenal.

To the fellow Diamond Dogs that continued the mission for us all. I salute you.

Diamond Dogs are punks, I'm Charlie Rock for life!

Nintentional1944d ago

I don’t think Konami would ever port it, but I would love this MGS V on Switch. Portable MGS is amazing. I played the ever loving crap of Peace Walker on PSP and MGS3 on 3DS.

TeamIcoFan1944d ago

Shhhhh, you're not allowed to wish for ports of other games on the Switch on the site!
The Sony fanboys rule this site and their word is law, how dare you be normal and hope that other games come to your preferred platform?! Shame on you!

Teflon021944d ago

No, the issue is port begging switch owners are annoying af. They literally say "portable *insert any game not currently on switch* would be great, I'd buy" type crap on everything. It's extremely annoying now. I actually wouldn't mind it but when every single game has, this should be on switch or port this to switch, it would be amazing. It becomes extremely annoying. People complained about Vita owners doing the same before. Only difference is they would just ask for PS3 ports to Vita since they were suppose to be easy to port overall. Even so it was no where this bad. It's out of hand. Not just here, literally every single thing I look at has them. On FB, N4G, any other game site, YouTube etc.

Nintentional1944d ago

@ Teflon I’ve never seen anyone on the internet complain about Vita owners “port begging” for PS3 games. The Vita simply cannot handle games like Uncharted 3, TLOU, or any big budget Ps3 game, because the hardware isn’t as capable as PS3. Come on, dude lol PS2 ports like Jak and Daxter even have a hard time running properly on the Vita, bro lmao smh 🤦🏻‍♂️ .

The Switch, on the other hand, could easily handle MGSV (the game was released on the 360, and the Switch is more poweful than that afterall), and it’s a successful system with tons of sales. There’s no reason to not want X or Y game to be released for it, especially since it can be done, and the machine definitely has the install base to support sales unlike the Wii U or even Vita for that matter.

TeamIcoFan is right. There are way too many close minded Sony fanboys on N4G if your comments is anything to go by lmao

sinspirit1943d ago (Edited 1943d ago )

@Nintentional

The main reason for lack of ports is the cartridge size, high cost of cartridges, the expensive memory cards limiting consumers from having a lot of storage, and all of these factors limiting the massive files sizes of PS3/360 games. Especially for PS3 games.

MGS4 actually had a tech demo that Konami made to demonstrate the capabilities. Apparently, with a basic port, not much optimization, and having a lower screen resolution to drive had the game running very well for a handheld. A framerate around 40-50 if I remember correctly. And, that's a great looking game.

It's actually quite a capable handheld, but with very important drawbacks that doomed it. Similar to Wii U, it lacked third party support for main stream titles.

@Nintentional

A new Portable Ops would be so amazing. Even just a remaster ported to Switch with updated controls. I used to be consistent number 1 on the leaderboard, lol. Ideally, MGSV's engine and assets could be made into a similar game at least.

I think everyone dooms ports to portable consoles these days. Nearly every gaming site is obviously going to be predominantly followed by Sony fans, since they have the most popular consoles atm. A generalization not set in stone, but backed by difference in population size.

The Switch absolutely accomplishes what I thought Sony would have sought after first. A handheld that is truly capable of full-length, home console quality, un-compromised control schemes. They pushed that ideal, but it never actually happened for their handhelds. The only drawback is not having pressure sensitive triggers, mostly for racing games

thejigisup1943d ago

We can wish that ARK was never ported. Some of these games that people want ported are going to be such watered down versions of the original that it's almost not worth it. I too used to be a port beggar for the Vita bc having no internet connection to stream my games via remote play was an issue when I wasn't sitting somewhere with a good connection.

Sophisticated_Chap1943d ago

On one had we have port begging, and on the other, we have remaster cheerleading. Nobody wins when these things occur.

WTF are you talking about the vita had a few PlayStation 3 ports and it was stronger than a ps2. The vita suffered from crappy developers everybody wanted there B,C or D team to make games for it so we got p.o.s like CoD, Resistance:burning Skies, and borderlands etc. With that being said it had a small library of good games that look far better than any ps2 game (Killzone Mercenaries,Unit 13 and Uncharted: GA)

TeamIcoFan1944d ago

It also suffered from Sony making some stupid AF decisions, the obvious ones being dropping 1st party support and proprietary, overpriced memory cards.

Nintentional1944d ago

Wtf are YOU talking about?? Lol are you seriously gonna try to tell me the Vita is capable of running Uncharted 3 and the Last of Us natively?? Delusional. The majority of games that were simultaneously released on PS3 and Vita were either primarily developed on the Vita, or heavily downgraded to run on the Vita. Why are we even arguing about it anyway? The Vita is dead bro! 😂😂

LegoIsAwesome1943d ago

Might as well make every PS4 games, multiplatform,Full exclusives and Console Exclusive comes to SWITCH eh?

Nintentional1943d ago

Ummm no? Just multiplats that are capable of running on the hardware. Why would any sane minded person ask for PS4 exclusives on the Switch?

LegoIsAwesome1943d ago (Edited 1943d ago )

Uhmmm, the same guys who constantly begs for a Switch port of a "ps4 only game" that is not made by sony's first party studio?

sinspirit1943d ago

I wish we could get a new Portable Ops style game with many of the gameplay innovations of MGSV.

The game was on PS3 and 360. It's not out of the question, but certainly unlikely.

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Number1TailzFan174d ago

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara174d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus174d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

Yea I don’t get why they’re allowing old reviews to be posted here. Someone did one on Soul Reaver and I got so excited thinking there was some stealth release of an HD Remaster, but no… it’s just someone who had a slow day posted an old review…

Cacabunga190d ago

I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

micdagoat19190d ago

I do wish they would remaster all the soul reavers

micdagoat19190d ago

it was done this morning though

goldwyncq190d ago

The author was in a coma for 9 years and didn't get to play the game when it released.

Chocoburger190d ago

This review arrived just in time for launch. Perfect timing!

RupeeHoarder190d ago

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

YourMommySpoils190d ago

Looks better than Starfield, Cyberpunk and most recent games out. Still fine.

RupeeHoarder190d ago

It most certainly does not lol.

andy85190d ago

Have you player Cyberpunk since the first day? It's absolutely stunning now

1nsomniac190d ago

One of the worst games ever made. Absolute overhyped trash!

Snowb420190d ago

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.

Shane Kim190d ago

The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.

KyRo189d ago

The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.

MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
