In recent times, a lot of trends that were pioneered in the mid-late ’90s (but then later went away for some reason) have begun to rediscover their popularity. It seems like literally every two months, there’s a new (cool) homage/ throwback to old-school FPS and RPG being released—able to both stoke the nostalgia fire of veteran gamers, as well as bring new ones into the fold. The trend is pretty evident in things like the again-popular 2D Metroidvania genre, the somewhat resurgent ‘immersive sim’ genre, more JRPG’s being made than they were before, beat em ups, classic- style platformers etc. etc.
Small price increase in the UK
Buy them when they are on sale. We just shouldn't be surprised anymore by prices hikes and or new games costing more. Simply speak with your wallets if you want these companies to pay attention. That's the only language they understand
I don’t live in the UK and this makes no sense whatsoever. These games have been out for years shouldn’t they be going down?!? That’s not how you attract new players.
So this is how it works now? Old games get a price increase? This sh*t is completely getting out of hand now.
Red Dead Redemption 2 could be excellent on Nintendo Switch 2, but it's pointless without bringing Red Dead Online along for the ride.
Not just RDR Online, but also cross save progress. I'm not starting over w my nearly 200 hours of the online. I will however consider picking it up again if I can have a purely portable version of it.
Take-Two announced its financial results for the fiscal year 2025, also sharing an update on the sales of GTA5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
The anticipation for GTA6 has reached fever pitch, with the latest trailer being the biggest video launch of all time.
Milk...get your milk...and so much more. Really when you release the same games in three editions over 15 years it's amazing how much money, and the amount of sales you earn. It's amazing how no one can compete.
No surprising considering that it’s been on every major platform and store.
I decided to look up the longest and most sold games list. To my surprise Tetris has takes the top spot.
While I haven’t played many games with them in it. I did enjoy playing the old resident evils and DMC’s. So I wouldn’t mind them having a small resurgence in some titles.
I enjoy the fixed camera angles in the Lego games. The free camera levels are awful, mostly because of the camera issues.
It was extremely effective in Metal Gear Solid. It's aged way better than most 3D PS1 games as a result. I recommended this game to a friend and my brother (got a free PSTV and lent it to them) and they both said that it was suprisingly good for a PS1 game and gave it an 8.5. When I was a kid, I remember thinking the MGS felt way better than the Tomb Raider games and the fixed camera angle definitely played a big part in that.
For certain games perhaps
Don't get me wrong, MGS is my favourite series of all time, but when they introduced the new camera in Subsistence, wasn't it widely regarded as a big improvement?
