Jade Raymond, Executive Producer on Blacklist, recently revealed to have designed a concept for a new Splinter Cell game before leaving Ubisoft. She also reflected on the evolution towards RPGs that Assassin's Creed had with Origins and Odyssey.
That's putting it mildly. We need Sam back, even more after the final retirement of Snake.
Agreed. The cameo stuff in Wildlands is neat, but we need a full game.
I agree. We need Sam Fisher back. I also wouldn't mind if Sony brings Gabe Logan back either since Snake is retired
As long as it's true to the original trilogy, I'm all for it.
We also need Gabe Logan back. Could be the next Uncharted Cold War Espionage blockbuster hit!
"How about guys...and get this...we make an OPEN WORLD Splinter Cell game?" "With Towers?" "Yes Steve, with towers" *everyone claps*
And let's kill Sam off and make his daughter Sarah the new protagonist, because, toxic masculinity.
That's pretty accusatory, considering they haven't done anything [yet?].
Accusatory? You really take this all too seriously. I still bet a pound to a snotter that the next Splinter Cell has a female lead.
Not sure I agree. Considering the Wildlands cameo, I'd bet that Sam is coming back along with Michael Ironside. I believe he was sick during Blacklist's production.
Of course, Lucas... Why would they put in a new, unrecognisable SC character? That wouldn't make any sense, and certainly wouldn't drum up hype. A new game however...
Lara Croft is really Sam Fishers love child!
(Ted Theodore Logan "whoa" GIF here)
god i would love a splinter cell chaos theory game on ps4,even a remake/remaster
The way Ubisoft was going lately, I'm surprised it didn't include plans for a "samantha" fisher
Lol it’s so true, instead of making a new ip like horizon zero dawn publishers would rather just shoehorn women in and attack fans when they complain. Mind you playing as a woman in assassins creed makes sense because of the way the story works.
Can't be open world, so it won't happen.
What about a semi-open world like the rebooted Tomb Raider games?
Hopefully not. It makes sense for TR and God Of War but not Splinter Cell. The Splinter Cell games take place in multiple locations around the world. You couldn't really cramp all of that into a single map without compromising the game's quality.
Dammit, so many great sounding games have been cancelled just so we can have more micro transactions. It might have worked for a little while, but these companies are losing a large portion of their consumer base. Truth is big publishers need balance, the audience is varied so you need to vary your games! For example this year, if ea released that awesome looking single player Star Wars game they wouldn’t be taking such a hit from battlefield under performing! Not to mention single player games might make less, but they are cheaper, less risky and faster to make.
They are less risky but I'm not sure about them being cheaper or faster to make. I agree that AAA publishers need to make more single-player games though. Another issue for publishers is that single-player gamers have higher standards. For me, AC: Odyssey's gameplay-affecting micro-transactions are bullshit so I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.
Hmm.... i don't know... Will the player be required to connect to online services to play the Single Player?
Absolutely, because it will be a "multiplayer focused title".
I don’t think we’ll ever see another Splinter Cell game from Ubisoft. Which makes me sad.
Dying for a new splinter cell or syphon filter. There isnt one good stealth/espionage game besides MSGV, and that came out a while ago. Unless i missed something lol
Gabe Logan and Sam Fisher have been gone far too long. We definitely could go for some more games
Look up a game called VOLUME on PS4 / Vita. Its inspired by MGS VR Missions.
Yeah i forgot about that, mike bithell's game, its a bit on the indie side but i heard its good
All you need to make another splinter cell is Ironside back as Sam, and it be like fortnite is to 5 year olds gaming goodness .
Is she the new video game attention whore...taking the mantle from Cliffy B?
As long as it's not like Blacklist then I'm ready.
Oh Jade...... Oh, sorry, we were talking about video games, that's right!!
I’d have loved to see that.
The series peaked with Chaos Theory.
Blacklist was pretty good. Conviction was kinda meh though.
I hated Blacklist. If you pretend that conviction is a 007 game it’s quite good, but it’s a poor Splinter Cell game.
Would be fun as an idea but not so good now with Gen Z demanding pay to win plus forced Internet connections it would just end up being an almost no single player, mass multiplayer mess. Merry Christmas everyone.
I just hope ubisoft doesnt jack up this series. Im already bothered at the directions beyond good and evil are headed.
I stopped playing Blacklist when I hit one of those "Optional" Horde Mode levels. Between that, other aspects and the oddity in which Sam had somehow found the fountain of youth, It all just felt so contrived.
The RPG elements have only continued to ruin the Assassin's Creed series.
She hasn't really done anything since the first Assassin's Creed. Only famous because of her gender in this industry.
I reckon it was made to be a social experience. This is just a hunch based on the knowledge I have of Jade Raymond. It might have been a good game as well, but Jade Raymond was involved. I also have it on good authority that the gameplay was excellent, until Jade Raymond got involved. At one point in the game development it was established that the game was going to be good, after that time Jade Raymond got involved.
