it really looks bland
yah I have this sinking feeling that anthem is gonna bomb. There appears to be no character development, at least not that they've shown, everyone is just in a faceless mech suit... perhaps just not my type of game.
I have a feeling that it will be the next "Game to Hate." But, I don't think it will be a bad game. I mean, I am reading about what the game is and I am definitely not reading into anything or adding content in my head, that they have not promised. I know that sounds weird but I have seen to many people hate games for not having what was never promised.
Played the Anthem closed alpha, it was ok nothing that special really. It will be like Destiny, fun for a couple weeks and then you never go back.
1 million + daily players for d1 & d2... for 4 years.. I think many games would take that
Content was the issue with Destiny though, the gunplay is some of the best seen in a shooter. Anthem in comparison looks a lot like Mass Effect. While the combat was decent in Andromeda, it can't hold a candle next to Destiny and that's ultimately what it's up against this time.
in the alpha i felt a lot like Mass Effect 2 and Destiny had a baby. Big problem i found, especially with a fast paced 3rd person shooter was there was no target lock, at least i couldn’t find one, so when i was dodging things i’d lose track of them
I think launching homing missiles from the air raining down on enemies is a big difference in gameplay when compared to Destiny.
TLOUP2 will definitely live up to its namesake. KH3 will probably be fine but considering how rabid fanbases are now these days I'm sure nothing will please diehard fans. The Skrillex song, for example, is deserving of the hate but it's only the start.
Last of Us II
idk if it is possible to over-hype a Naughty Dog game.
sorry I wrote TLOU2 for not having read the title properly, I thought it was the most anticipated games of 2019. Sorry about my poor English. TLOU2 will be the best game of the generation without any doubts.
Not possible, try again rookie

The game that left such an impression that an industry professional called it out for using scripting gameplay as they couldn't possibly fathom how a live demo could look that good? If it plays like it does in that demo and combined with Naughty Dog's expertise, I can't see how it will be overhyped.

Yeah you wish.

Twinfinite 1 game per-page slideshow. No thanks
yeah i said the same thing. This isn't the 90's or early 2000's where all content can't fit on one page.
Anthem won't be overhyped. It's only ever talked about in a negative light. If anything, it'll be a pleasant surprise if it turns out to be good. As of now, people aren't really hyping at all.
“Hyped” is from those spending money to do so, not the comments in said articles.
Serious question: Is there any real hype surrounding Anthem? I was excited for about a month after the announcement, followed by the typical "EA is gonna do EA to the game I guess" :D
not really. In the begging there was, now people hate EA (rightfully so).
Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm seeing and hearing as well. It's a shame really, since the game does look like something with potential
You're so wrong on the last of us 2.
I still cant understand what anyone sees in Anthem, looks like a snorefest!
In that case, the question becomes: "Will you spend the next 10 months hating the game that you didn't want?"
Lol Death Stranding and TLOU 2, I want my click back
We may have even drowned if it weren't for the article's five pages of dams. Crisis averted.
Anthem The Last of Us Part II Kingdom Hearts III Metroid Prime 4 Death Stranding
this guy just looked at the biggest releases for games next year and picked each one
Metroid prime has a lot to live up too. I hope they can deliver. As for Death Stranding I have to see more before I judge it. I'm sure it will be a good game though and that Kojima will deliver.
When most of the games I would recommend from this year are indies lol.
In other words, 5 games that will be shite and be destroyed by some kind of greedy corporate nonsense in 2019.
I haven't been let down by a game I've anticipated for quite some time! I went crazy waiting on The Witcher 3 and true to form it was everything I'd hoped and more! I still play it and HZD was the same. I wasn't expecting to be as impacted by Aloy's story as I was. Uncharted 4, GOW, Spider-Man and most big AAA games all delivered or surpassed my expectations and even titles like Nier, Persona 5, The Last Guardian and Shadow of the Colossus also blew me away. The point is it's not hard to know which titles will deliver because either the publishers or developers or both have consistently delivered. TLOU2, Ghosts, Death Stranding, Metro Exodus, RE2 Remake all look to be amazing experiences. Whereas it's just as easy to see which ones may be kinda bland.
Anthem is a pass. Death stranding my ex hyped this game up loads and I still don't "get it". So I don't really have much care for it at the moment. (waiting in reviews). Last of us 2, is one I feel may be a marmite sort of game. First one was amazing and I loved the bond between Joel and Ellie. This 2nd one so far I'm unsure where the story is going. But will play for sure.
What no crackdown 3? That has been overhyped for the past 5 years lol.
