Brad Gallaway - "I’m genuinely sad that the little indie I found so enamoring many years ago turned out to be something that I can’t stand playing, but that’s the truth of it, and here we are. Masochists looking for something to test their mettle might think a trip Below worthwhile, but I suspect that most will find a harsh, unforgiving experience that’s outdone by other, less brutal titles."

"Publisher Serenity Forge and distributor Meridiem Games are thrilled to announce a boxed Special Edition of the roguelike action-adventure game "BELOW" will launch on 31st March for PlayStation 4." - Serenity Forge and Meridiem Games.
Player 2 takes on the new version of Below that promises to make things a little easier for those that found it a touch too much before.
There has been a fair amount of criticism regarding its difficulty and "cheap" deaths. I'm not one of those guys who dismiss that type of criticism, either. Sometimes its valid, and simply saying "git gud" doesn't negate problems a game may have.
With that said, this little disclosure in this particular review is complete bullshit: "Approximately 8 hours of play were devoted to the single-player mode, and the game was not completed."
This isn't some user review. These guys are recognized by metacritic and have a site called gamecritics.com. It's a shame that this title isn't a AAA title where there might actually be backlash for this garbage.
I haven't played this game, and doubt I will. But reading a "review" from a "critic" that plays a game for one day, doesn't finish it, and then thinks we should care about his/her opinion anyway is the prime reason "games journalism" is crap today.
