Super Smash Bros. is also available on the Nintendo Wii U and if we see it next to the Nintendo Switch version, the difference in visuals and upgrade is
This game looks so damn nice on my TV. 1080p 60fps bliss!
It's phenomenal portable too! I love laying down and having a full experience in bed.
It looks amazing in portable mode as well for sure, one of the best looking games on the System.
Is it just more or do some of the models in the Wii U version seem better? Like Donkey Kong fur being more detailed versus smooth orThe lighting done for Pikachu in ultimate is far to much compared to the Wii U. The switch takes the cake when it comes to environment and everything else from what I can see, but some of those character models look worse imo and I think that’s partially the fault of to much lighting on some of the models
@Nitrowolf2 Nah all of the models had an improvement. Donkey Kong on Wii U had that fake fur alpha crap that looked awful, thankfully they removed that. As for Pikachu he is just under a bright light so he looks a bit glowy is all.
It looks pretty good on a projector as well.
The switch one is harder to get down so far, for me at least.
I've been playing nonstop to unlock Mewtwo. World of Light is so addicting. Unlocking spirits and leveling. Is there any doubt this isn't the best Smash Bros yet? Even the balance feels just right
I love the rebalance. Very quick games.
Wii U graphics in true HD with better AA and Physics
More than that. The game has better animations, textures, models, far superior lighting and its faster gameplay.
Even the thumbnail proves your trolling.
Beats 360 graphics in 4K on X
I should hope so. The 360 came out in 2005.
I’m surprised, the WiiU version doesn’t look half bad. Anyway, Smash Ultimate is so awesome and very addicting.
The Wii U version was already 1080p and ran at 60fps. The Switch version overall looks slightly better, with improved textures, colors, and nicer character models, although I think a couple characters looked better on the Wii U version (Donkey Kong and Kirby). But yeah, I've played a bit of Ultimate since release, and it looks lovely. Got 55 characters unlocked so far, I think I have 19 to go. :D
Also you can adjust the brightness in the Switch version, so for anyone saying the brightness or lighting is a bit odd, that setting fixes that.
they could still support the wii u, all these games are nearly the same target.
The system is dead, there's no reason to support it anymore. It sucks for those who bought a Wii U, but not enough of them bought the system to make it worthwhile to support. It is what it is.
Why would they when it’s over their newer better console is off to a flying start Wii u was great still got mine but had a lot wrong with it but typical Nintendo the games always shine through tho hence these Wii u ports? With a new lick of life and absolutely amazing I had smash Bros on Wii u but hardly played mainly played 3ds version and Mario kart 8 was great but on switch I played hours fantastic games and if you want new there Mario odyssey or Zelda if you didn’t buy it on Wii u. As yes came out on both big deal so did twilight princess so did gta5 being on both ps3/360 then getting a re release was it worth it hell yeah. Fifa do it every year is it worth it no. Haha.
......it's on Wii U???
No. Come on... It's comparing an old smash
Best game for 2018, i bet it will get more gameplay hours than any other game not name fortnite I been playing nonstop the game just came out and i already unlock 60 characters in world of light i only have 14 more to go im at 20 hours in world of light and i beat every mission that i came across every 4 star mission
Not more than COD
Ultimate by name ultimate by nature
Shhh, it's Nintendo, we don't say that around here about their games.
So which Smash is it a remake of? Tell us.
I don't know, pick one.
You may as well say God of War is a remake your comment is so stupid.
Yeah, I don't think you've played Smash in quite some time, if at all. Doesn't sound like you have a clue what you're talking about. Considering some characters were absent from Wii U/3DS but present in Brawl, yet everyone is in Ultimate along with new characters, stages, music, character balances, etc., I ask again: which Smash is this a remake of? Because your definition sounds like a sequel, not a remake.
The new smash is a sequel just like Fifa 19 is a sequel to Fifa 18. New characters and new outfits and locations, I mean the freaking comparison video shows the improvements on the new one, they literally show the same map and character with better graphics lol. Like I said: Shhh, it's Nintendo, we don't say that around here about their games.
So how is that any different from a game like, say, Uncharted and its sequels? Because you have a rope in A Thief's End? Why, because of a narrative? New characters/ outfits are standard for sequels. New locations are standard. The revised previous stages (in addition to new ones) sounds the hell off a lot like any other sequel with multiplayer where you can play on old maps. It's not about Nintendo having some kind of amnesty--your comment is honestly just dumb and, apparently, exonerates most sequels on any other platform. Humor me for a moment: what, in your opinion, makes a sequel? Be clear and be specific. You haven't played the game and you're clearly misinformed. Just own it and go about your day.
Because Uncharted 4 is not the same location as 1. And Actually I did play the game, which is why I commented. "New characters/ outfits are standard for sequels. New locations are standard. The revised previous stages (in addition to new ones) sounds the hell off a lot like any other sequel with multiplayer where you can play on old maps. " OK so Call of duty, Fifa, Madden, NBA etc.. all get criticizes for "being the same thing every year". But Smash Bros is "GOTY" and "Best game ever" even though it does the same thing those game do? That's what I'm laughing at, the hypocrisy with anything Nintendo.
"Because Uncharted 4 is not the same location as 1." I asked you to be specific in your explanation of what defines a proper sequel. So location, in your mind, is what makes it a sequel? Using your own operational definition, the new locations in Ultimate solidify its place as a sequel rather than a remake/remaster. You might be thinking "but it still has older locations and cannot be a sequel because of this". Is Metal Gear Solid 4 any less of a sequel because there's an entire chapter that takes place on Shadow Moses Island? It is only a part of the game, much like the familiar locations in Ultimate. Is Gravity Rush 2 any less of a sequel because Hekseville can be explored in addition to the new locations? Y'know, I could have sworn I've been driving around Nurburgring since, what, Gran Turismo 4? Sounds like they've remade that game 3 or 4 times already because, y'know, location. "And Actually I did play the game, which is why I commented." Right. "OK so Call of duty, Fifa, Madden, NBA etc.. all get criticizes for "being the same thing every year". But Smash Bros is "GOTY" and "Best game ever" even though it does the same thing those game do? That's what I'm laughing at, the hypocrisy with anything Nintendo." So since you quoted me saying, "sounds the hell off a lot like any other sequel with multiplayer where you can play on old maps" , where is YOUR criticism of those games? I would also say that's a false equivalence. Melee is VERY different from the original on N64, Brawl is much slower than Melee and plays radically differently, Wiiu/DS is more like Melee than Brawl, but still very different, and Ultimate is faster and mechanically very different from any of its predecessors. Moves are familiar, but the game itself doesn't even FEEL like a remake, so I don't see why you recognize it as one. Character rebalances, attack priority, and even some moveset changes are present. How you think that constitutes a remake is mind-numbingly ignorant. The very idea that your definition of a sequel is predicated on location over gameplay and mechanics is, frankly, stupid.
Yeah, no. I have both games, and this is not a remake or a port.
Ive been playing these games since the n64 version long before most of you ever held a controller in your hand and while these games are fun, theyve been feeling very samey for some time. Im actually glad this game is called ultimate... hoping the next game is a complete make over instead of some name like smash bros ultimate 2...
Same, I don't see the difference between this game and any of the Yearly Fifa, Madden NBA games that release.
Wii U was basically Nintendo's early concept of the Switch when it was released. It didn't fully flesh out their concept of the Switch and was released prematurely.
Yeah I see it as an early switch I loved Wii u some of the games were brilliant but yeha the gamepad was a beast and the battery died in barely 2 hours so basically have to play plugged in but the games were good hence they getting another chance to shine just like Sony have done and Xbox would do if they had the same quality of games to go back to
Yeah I completely agree. It's more of an upgrade of the same system like ps4 pro or Xbox one X.
these legitimately look like two totally different games. It's not even a graphical improvement. It's like different assets, different patterns, different environments and physics and animation loops (look at the flags waving), Donkey Kong's fur is completely different between the two versions. The lower thirds are changed on the fighters faces and style, the stages have different iconography. It's extremely alarming and stunning, tbh. It means Nintendo co-developed almost two different versions of this game together. I'm sure there is a lot of cross over in the gameplay development and coding, but WOW, what an impressive amount of work.
A while back they confirmed it's on a new engine. Custom built for Switch.
