Damn awesome. I doubt any other game company ever gave away so many games completely free.
It sounds like Sony is also more serious about PS now. They're investing and working with this cloud base company. I'm waiting for them to add PS now to PS+. PSNow has over 800 games on there 🤔. Sony need to start marketing that
https://www.bloomberg.com/n...
They been working with Microsoft with Azure? What's your point? The Bloomberg article was just posted today. They're working with Ubitus as well
Let me be the first to say, if you haven’t played The Witness... do NOT read or look up anything about it and just dive in. Absolutely the best open world puzzle game in ages; probably since Myst. It will really bend your mind. It’s buttery smooth on PS5. I am replaying it now (platinum’d’ it on PS4).
Don’t spoil anything for yourself and just let it take you for an experience.
Yea why not....I'll take your advice but I have one question how much puzzle variety does it have?
Now u know how gamers with XboxGamePass feel when AAA titles appear in the list. Its great that Sony is doing it to. In the end its happy us! The Gamers
I played Zero Dawn Main story, this will be great time to play DLCs as well.
Do Game Pass gamers know how that feels without paying anything? No, they don't.
They get a small taste, this like a drop of water compared to the tank of gamepass. HZD like the only aaa on that list and let's be real EVERY PS owner on this site already played and bought it.
MS Gave away tons of games over the years. I doubt that if they ever did it Sony would do anything.
But they have been slacking lately because of Gamepass.
^halo 5 was free, gears 5 was free (recently too) too human was free, phantom dust... and a few others I cant think of right now.
And yes those were totally free. You can prob find the articles about it on N4G.
Awesome, yes. Especially considering the fact that this time, I don't already own most of these games. Horizon Zero Dawn being the exception. It's gonna be long and tedious to finish the game again, as my save file of the NTSC-J version I have probably won't be compatible with the Pal version of the game that I'll be getting, but definitely worth it ultimately since I'll finally get to play the Frozen Wilds expansion!
First R&C and now Horizon?Sony arent dumb they know what theyre doing.Give people a taste and hook them in to get them warmed up for the sequel.
With all the extra people playing Horizon, it would be great if this made it easier for them to justify a 60fps patch as well
Amazing gesture from Sony. Litrelly just bought astro vr a few days ago and have yet to play but I can't complain so many games there I don't own.
I bought a bundle code on eBay that included Skyrim and astrobit, doom, wipeout and another game.
I bought Enter the Gungeon recently but hadn't even downloaded it. Had never trued to get a refund for something before so chanced it last night. Sony rejected it on the basis that I bought it 15 days ago and the window for refunds is 14 ha feckers
@monkey602
That sucks man. Something similar happened with me for Control Ultimate Edition. Well hey, you win some, you lose some.
The only reason that I didn't mention the 2 week rule to ocelot07 is because he only bought astro vr a few days ago.
Astrobot rescue mission is absolutely fantastic with VR. Wipe out is good, moss looked stunning and skyrim......... Well....... Less said about VR version the better really. Bad blurry visuals. But I haven't tried it yet on the ps5, so may have an improvement.
"But there’s more to come later this spring. Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition will be available for free download between April 19 8:00pm Pacific Time and May 14 8:00pm Pacific Time."
Awesome game. Can't wait for the sequel.
Subnautica is a great game despite its bugs and FPS issues. I downloaded it on a whim thinking it was a peaceful diving game but it’s not, it’s a horror in disguise.
Stoked that its on there been wanting to give it a go for ages...been looking for a survival type game after finishing the forest
I'm just holding out on a VR patch for Subnautica. I just think the OG PS4 couldn't do it justice, but I'm sure it will be ported to PS5 and I can hardly wait!
Nice gesture from Sony with so many free games to keep forever, no subscription needed. Unfortunately for me I own all but three, Rez Infinite, Subnatica, and Thumper. Just notice Paper Beast was also listed, this was a game I didnt have any interest in even though it a VR game, now I will have a chance to try it for free.
Dang that’s pretty good. The thing is that we get to keep these games which is sweet. This actually gives me a reason to turn my ps4 on 😂 it’s probably been almost 3 years since I’ve used it
HZD complete being free is an awesome deal for those who didn't pick it up yet - or are new to the PS ecosystem with PS5.
Make sure to set a reminder so you don't forget! Also, you don't even need to be an active PS+ subscriber to get these!
You won't miss it if you got PS5. That's for sure. Ratchet was slapped on the full screen display for the ps store on PS5. They're really trying to give away free games.
Yep.. and this is the perfect time to be doing it during COVID when everyone is stuck at home.
Two disagrees on my comment because people don't think free games are an awesome deal...
I've said it before and I'll say it again: people aren't giving Sony enough credit for how good they've been treating their fans. PS+ has been amazing for a long time and then you have them giving everyone tons of free games like this.
Oh and from the sound of that blog post they likely have more free games coming in May and June
Would make sense as I'm pretty sure part of the reason they chose Ratchet and Horizon was because the new ones were coming out.
Wow! This is really cool. It’s a shame I don’t have PSVR though because Astro Bots looks amazing, Moss was a great game so if you haven’t played it now you can.
Serious question, is there a non vr version of Moss? I didn't want to care for the mouse, but after the first few high fives and behind the back fives, she stole my icy heart and had me smiling. Definitely more people should play this game.
Moss was amazing. I platinum’d it on PSVR. Quill is is incredible and this is my favorite use of VR. Like Astrobot (another 10/10), Moss uses the third person perspective in VR so well. I cannot wait for Book II on PS5 VR2 day one!
Add it to your library anyway, because if you can't be tempted by a deal on PSVR beforehand, PSVR2 is coming next year and should be backwards compatible for the top games you'd have to hope!
I agree. I have it on xbox and love it. It's quite tricky to get 100% in the later levels!
Sony Sony Sony.
That's how you do it! No subscription needed. But But But...Sony.
They continue to show why they are the market leader.
The trade off being that they’re only accessible for a month.
But yeah free AAA titles are a great thing, old or now.
I think people are upset that Sony is giving games away for free but they have to pay $15 bucks a month to demo games on a service. But Sony is, supposedly, "anti consumer." Lol.
Sony just keeps letting everyone know that you don't need to spend money. But the haters think Sony should just make gamers pay for these games in PS Now. That other company has twisted their minds.
Free and clear is better than any service.
"The trade off being that they’re only accessible for a month."
Wrong. The Play at Home games are free to keep forever.
"Yes, you can keep these games forever"
https://www.theverge.com/20...
Fair enough, available to download then. I understand why they’re doing it but it’s a shame it wasn’t a bit longer.
"Fair enough, available to download then."
lol....wrong again. You don't even have to download the game. Just go to the game store page and add it to your library.
" it’s a shame it wasn’t a bit longer."
Are you seriously trying this hard to find things to whine about for completely free games with no strings attached?
Go into all the technicalities you want, it’s available until it’s not available.
And my original comment was in response to a clear dig at gamepass, so yeah why not.
"Go into all the technicalities you want, it’s available until it’s not available."
Technicalities? lol...please. You were making shit up because you don't know what you are talking about. That simple. And the majority of Game Pass consists of "it’s available until it’s not available" except it doesn't matter if you added it to your library or not. It's just gone.
"And my original comment was in response to a clear dig at gamepass, so yeah why not."
You think defending Game Pass with bullshit arguments is the way to go, huh? Sounds about right.
“Competition is always a good thing. It forces us to do our best. A monopoly renders people complacent and satisfied with mediocrity.” – Nancy Pearcy
Wow great. I have some of these, but a very nice initiative Sony. Some really good games here...
Thats kids is a competition, of sony would have no competitors you would not get shit from them
I’m really loving this program. It’s a win win for everyone
Imagine if Nintendo ever gave The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild away for free to entice people to stay indoors
Haven't played REZ or Paper Beast yet! I'll jump into those after I'm done with Blood and Truth, Iron Man, and Star Wars Squadrons
Nope. So much free.
Free is better than paying for any service to play games. Some want Sony to make a game pass equivalent. Screw that. Who wants subscriptions. Or in Sony's competitor's case, subscription on top of subscription. But call it supposedly, value.
Free games is way better. What he stated was correct. Free>paid demos rental service. You can downplay it, but free is better than paying. That's real value. By being a PlayStation fan, Sony is giving back to their fans cooped up in their house. Way better. Don't be hurt by the truth.
You guys are insecure af because you have to bring up game pass even though it has no relevance to the news instead of just being happy that Sony's giving away free games.
I'm insecure because I'm comparing a rental service to games I get to keep forever? Then sure. Still taking the free games. Seems like my comment hit a nerve with you.
I dunno.... it's a bunch of 10 dollar indie games and one 4 year old AAA game most PS owners probably already have or have finished. I'm not knocking it, just saying I wouldn't take it over Game Pass.
Hmm.... what MS AAA game or AA or A games has MS given you for free?! Oh right nothing. A lot of those games reviewed extremely well and Sony didn't have to give ANYTHING and yet they are giving some amazing games free and you complain? Since when are well reviewed free games ever a bad thing?
The Witness is like $30 on Xbox Market place for example isn't some $10 indie as you put it.
Subnautica is about $25 as well. Thumper is also $20.
But yeah your right Sony giving away like $200 free games to everyone for FREE? Yeah absolutely awful of them s/
Ratchet and Clank and now Horizon, both titles getting a sequel in the near future.
I guess God of War is the next free big game.
@Chevalier I didn't say it was awful of them. You're making stuff up. I said I like Gamepass more, that's all. Sony fans mock old games. Constantly they say "LOL MS is focused on old games. No one wants to play old games." Whenever backwards compatibility comes up, or an old game gets an FPS boost, yet you guys are on here going nuts over a bunch of old indie games and a AAA game most of you have probably already played, while also constantly bashing Gamepass.
So you're comparing a free collection of games to a paid service and expect the same? That's just idiotic. As for making stuff up. Where did you see here anything about Gamepass or BC games while we've making stuff up cause I sure didn't mention either did I? Insecure much?
You're making up that I said Sony is just awful. I didn't. And you guys mock old games and updated games hard when Xbox does it, then go nuts when Sony gives you a handful of indie games from years ago. And yes I think paying 5 extra dollars a month to get Outriders, Halo 6, Forza, every Bethesda game, Hellblade 2 and all the rest day 1 is better than getting The Witness and 4 year old Horizon for free. As far as "where did I see anything about GP" Uh.... the entire thread is people going "Better than Gamepass." The person I was replying to wasn't you, you replied to me. The comment I replied to said "I'll take this over paying for Game Pass. Free games I can keep forever."
