[Review] ‘Omen of Sorrow’ is a Solid, Yet Shallow, Horror Icon Fighting Game | Bloody Disgusting

Some of Horror’s Classic Icons go toe to claw in mortal combat, but don’t pack much of a punch. Find out why in our Omen of Sorrow review.

Would have been better if they offered the game at $30-$20. At $50, you would expect the game to have a slight amount of content to the likes of Guilty Gear and Mortal Kombat. Hell, Killer Instinct has way more content, and it's free to download. I don't think Omen of Sorrow is bad (it has a 66 on metacritic so that's something) but I can't help but think that they should have ironed the game out a little more. Considering that thus game won a award, it just shows that just because your game won numerous awards, that doesn't mean the end product will be good.

Looking at you, Evolve.

Review - Omen of Sorrow (PS5) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "The foundations for a good and ambitious fighter can be seen in Omen of Sorrow. It was a commendable effort by its developers, but sadly, the game falters in its minuscule roster size, pointless story mode and ridiculous trophy requirements. Still, I am actually glad this game exists. There’s something about it that made it extra charming. Omen of Sorrow reminded me a lot of those adorable mid-tier fighting games that were everywhere during the Nintendo 64/PS1 generation. Games like Fighters Destiny, Bio Freaks, War Gods, Mace: The Dark Age. Games that weren’t able to compete with the big ones, but sure as hell tried, and we all lauded the attempt. That’s Omen of Sorrow in a nutshell. Flawed, but I respect the hustle."

Have it for PS4 already, it’s actually not bad. I am a huge Darkstalkers fan, so to get anything like this is a real treat. Eyeballing the limited edition on playasia, pretty nice looking package. Not sure to grab it for switch or PS5. Will these versions be enhanced from the PS4 version is my question.

Okay but where's the new dlc? Last we got was that vampire lady in late 2018.

This game I have for ps4, it's not very good to politely put it. Don't bother seeking this one out. You ain't missing anything.

So one of the worst fighting games is coming to PS5/Switch/Steam?
Nice, no thanks.
