Also, as Jim Sterling correctly called, Bethesda, with this fake apology, is trying to put people into the microtransactions currency routine and actually make even more money out of the controversy.

One of the biggest challenge for microtransactions is to convert non payers to payers. Giving a little bit of currency is a well known, tried and true tactic aiming for it.

BTW, 500 fake coins can buy a door and some flowers on the game. :D

Here in Brazil almost every AAA publisher does that Steam-compensation for local currency (I'm not judging its merit, if it's fair, not that) since launch - Bethesda is the only one charging full 100% conversion at the game's launch.

And, let's be honest, after Fallout 3/Skyrim games, Bethesda knows their games will be properly fixed by the mod community.

Let's not forget the dreaded CREATION CLUB (I guess that's its name?), which was created to start charging for MODS! Which were stolen directly from Nexus, lots of creators at the time said their mods were put there without their consent, and guess if Bethesda did anything about it, after reported?

That's the worst logic for this ever. It completely ignores the point, just so you can pass your opinion on the subject instead of focusing on the problem. A consumer used their own money to purchase a product, and the company mislead/falsely advertised it. Plain as day a problem and illegal, regardless of what industry it is in. A $200 special edition might be worth $300-500+ down the road, so it's also an investment of sorts, too, so your $200 should have everything inside of it be what is promised.

Everyone should remember this when other bethesda published games (Doom,Rage 2) release. As far as I'm concerned the only thing that could make Bethesda look half way decent is to offer full refunds to every person who paid full price for this garbage. Which 76 does not have either. You earn or buy Atoms, you buy what you want. Or nothing at all. If you buy nothing, no one will notice. Nor will you. The hate this game has gotten for it's microtransactions is completely beyond me. They are freaking skins with a couple emotes and some frames for photo-mode. Nothing is required. Nothing affects gameplay in any way. It's just skins.

If Fallout 76 is bad for it's MTXs, then I better see some hate for Fortnite starting. Because that game is nothing but a lobby for them. Again they don't affect gameplay at all. So to me, don't whine. But if 76s are bad, then why not those? Sure the game is free, but I bet many have spent far more than the cost of a game for digital items that do nothing.

Bag was advertised as burlap, instead was made with cheap, thin nylon. Completely different from what was shown for months. Then the replies to people were also different. One said they had a problem and needed to switch materials, but a different one said they had no intentions of making it Burlap, that it was a prototype, and that they are not planning on doing anything about it. They can't even get their excuses straight.

As for the game, just rewatch the E3 reveal and it's plain as day how fabricated all of their claims/promises are vs. the actual game.

The fact that they never bothered to change or clarify the retail descriptions before release is the worst of it. Early concepts of collector editions and prototypes change all the time (still bugged by the Link smash amiibo yellow stick stand but I digress). When described as a "canvas bag" and not being anything close to that on a $200 price tag is pretty thoughtless and worth every bit of criticism.
