NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti unable to run Darksiders 3 with 60fps on Epic/Max settings in 4K

DSOGaming writes: "Darksiders 3 releases tomorrow and THQ Nordic has provided a PC review code for our PC Performance Analysis purposes. And as always, we initially tested our NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti in 4K on Max/Epic settings in order to capture some 4K screenshots and see how this high-end GPU performs on this particular title."

Wtf. I get 60 fps with shadows on high and enterin everything else maxed out at 4K with a 1080 Ti

sinjonezp2391d ago

And what’s sad, without AMD providing considerable competition, Nvidia will continue to do this to us consumers. The 3xxx series cards will come out and they will tote that these will run ray tracing at 4K etc etc ..and the price will 50% more than RTX2xxx cards

pleasuretokill2391d ago

Idiots that buy the cards are just as much to blame. Up until the 2080TI, I bought every single top (TI) card going back to the 500 series. When I saw the price to performance for the 2080TI and ridiculous "ray tracing".... I said "nope". 1080TI it is, until a reasonable card comes along under 1k that beats it handily.... I don't give in to hype and neither should you.

" During our playthrough, we experienced drops to mid-50s and there were some scenes in which our framerate dropped to 40-44fps."

While for the price of the card this performance isn't great I personally wouldn't mind this performance. Just bump a few of the less noticeable settings down (shadows and maybe lighting depending on your preference) and you'll have good performance.

starchild2391d ago

Yeah, and 4k/60fps is extremely demanding in the first place. Not to mention this game seems to not be very well optimized (nor well designed in general).

UltraNova2391d ago (Edited 2391d ago )

First thoughts would point to poor game optimization and driver support but reports showing 1080Ti stellar performance at 4K no less mean either poor 2080Ti driver optimization on Nvidia's behalf or the card is simply not up to par with the game's requirements (or both...).

Nvidia has unequivocally showed what almost no opposition does to a company and the way they treat their customers.

UltraNova2391d ago

Nope, the proper... "shitting" was done by the 1080Ti on the 980Ti...this time around was a very mediocre effort on Nvidia's part.

nVidia needs to go back the drawing board. The whole RTX series so far to me seems like a joke. First ray tracing runs like shit at 1080p now it can't run this game in 4k without ray tracing in 60fps? LMAO I'll keep my 1080, nVidia you failed to deliver, first you lied out right during your keynote about ray tracing you failed to show the performance hit at 1080p you lied to fellow gamers who supported you. I hope this shit back fires on you so bad. Next time don't lie about performance by hiding what it really does, which is shit at 1080p with ray tracing. You made lots of people pre order and buy the 2080/2080Ti only to fail them so badly with your promises about ray tracing performance. You lying fucks HAHA

Dabigsiebowski2392d ago

Look at how mad you are but yet I'm sure your gonna go right back to em and take another load in your mouth from em. More people should be looking at what AMD is doing on the horizon now that 7nm is about to come into play in the next few months.

sinspirit2392d ago

You should learn how to talk to people.

AMD already said not to expect any high end solutions, unfortunately.

Gwiz2391d ago

It really is,1080ti is the best bang buckeroo :D

MrCrimson2391d ago

Weird - price aside, the most powerful GPU currently on the market is the 2080TI. If a game can't run at 60FPS on 4k Max settings, the issue isn't with the card...it's with the game.

Look nVidia just failed at their keynote stating what to really expect. They lied to many people who actually spent the $800-1200$ for the 2080/2080Ti expecting great performance using ray tracing with these cards. I was one of them looking forward to the 2080 but I also wait for many reviews on what this card can actually do, which is fail on their promise of great performance using ray tracing. I feel bad for the people who spent all that $$ and were expecting awesome performance from ray tracing. I would try to return those cards if possible for a refund.

Blu3_Berry2392d ago

I mean, not many new games can run max settings at 4K with 60 fps yet. That is very demanding.

sinjonezp2391d ago (Edited 2391d ago )

well we can wait for RTX3080ti

pleasuretokill2391d ago

If I buy a card for $1300, it better max everything and give me a handy J in the mornings.

KukwesGaming2392d ago

Well to be fair...the new drivers just released too

SegaGamer2391d ago

Yep, I just had a drive update about an hour ago. I would like to see tests now that the new driver is out.

SierraGuy2391d ago

It still sucks 45-55fps.

kevnb2392d ago (Edited 2392d ago )

I could tell it was dsog as soon as I saw the title... says something about the tone they set doesnt it?

starchild2391d ago

For a supposedly PC-centric site they sure seem to go out of their way to make the PC seem as bad as possible, all the while sucking Sony off on the regular. It seems like a big joke.

It's Been 13 Years Since The Cliffhanger, When's The Darksiders Finale Coming?

Now that all of Darksiders' horsemen have been explored, it's about time we get the epic team-up the first game left us hanging for.

Embracer went on a massive studio buying spree in hopes one deal with saudis would go through and it didn’t.
Now they are shutting down studios and looking for cash after spending most of it on acquisitions.
I wouldn’t get my hopes up for anything that Embracer owns.
They need to get out of this problem they made for themselves but it may never happen. They f’d up big time.
Darksiders has little hope at this moment

Darksiders III for Nintendo Switch Review (The Gamers Lounge)

Darksiders III on Nintendo Switch is a mostly well-done port that is likely to take a lot of people by surprise given its huge graphical upgrade over its previous generation predecessors. While the game itself is far from perfect, it should be commended that even with a few downgrades here and there, the overall integrity of the game remains intact and officially completes the entire Darksiders series being available on Nintendo Switch, which lends itself nicely to handheld play despite a AAA production that's as epic and grandiose as the series has ever been.

Darksiders III Nintendo Switch OLED Review - The Wrath of Fury I The Koalition

Adam Vale of The Koalition writes: When thinking about some of my favorite hack & slash adventure games of last-gen, Darksiders and Darksiders II pop up in my head. The story was unique, and the combat was satisfying with creative level design. For whatever reason, I never picked up Darksiders III. So here we are in 2021 and Darksiders III has been ported to my preferred portable gaming device. This is why I held off on reviewing this game until my Nintendo Switch OLED arrived. At least 90% of my gaming on the Switch is in handheld mode and I wanted to experience this horrid creature-infested world on the new vibrant OLED screen.

Despite the issues with the game itself, Darksiders III still looks great on the Nintendo switch OLED model.
