Some thoughts on how the video game based on the movie series Saw could (and hopefully will) play out.
Times are changing, and these games would have never been made in today's climate.
Every single time someone uses this phrase whether it's music, movies, books, comics, video games, etc it's always the same claim.
The ubiquitous "they" won't allow it to be made. And every decade these claims are made the claimant completely ignores all the "offensive" material that is published when the claim is made.
In ten years, you can write a new article about how you can't make games like Helldivers 2, Resident Evil VIII, Mortal Kombat I, Dragon's Dogma 2, Alan Wake 2 etc etc etc any more.
Dead Island: "The early PC version of the zombie game swapped the playable character Purna’s Gender Wars skill with a prototype name, which shouldn’t be mentioned directly. The skill name made fun of both Purna as a character and feminists."
"Feminist Whore" lmao
ill add one more to the list.
drakengard 1.
its ridiculous tho, especially since they'd still be able to find their place in alot of places in the world. except america of course ha. and maybe Australia.
ppl are so sensitive these days. ha. but it is what it is.
They're not offensive.
And we need another Fat Princess. Fantastic little game!
Some people just have no sense of humour if this sort of thing offends them. They need to lighten up and stop taking themselves so seriously.
Escape room number one, then proceed to room number two. Why? because it's littered with some of the best escape room games you can play
A gameplay demo of the cancelled Portal prequel F-Stop using recreated assets features no portals, and a unique camera that duplicates items.
I think this has the potential to be freaking great, or awful. I hope they take their time with it, even though it's out in a year and idk how much they've done already. I'd prefer to wait a little longer and enjoy a great game for weeks on end.
lol @ my own rambling
I am a HUGE fan of the movies 1-5 (i saw nr.5 today and it was AWSOME)
and when i now red that they are making a game they just have to have some parts in mind. here is my list of stuff they NEED in the game or else it will suck BIG TIME Trust my words on this one.
1.No mp, The movies is so deep and thrilling so mp would only mess things up,
2. Deep and i mean REALY deep story line, take like the guys doing HEavy rain or Farenhight and do the story, or make the movie maker of Saw do it, the feeling must be perfect! THey should aim 4 the best thriller game in 2009 if they are going 2 make this game.
Or they will make a lot of fans (me) very angry!
3. Grait sound, you should here the floor boards make sound when you walk on it, you should here the Tic from the clock when the timer ticks down, you should here the PIN from the traps go out, and offcourse 7.1 surround sound.
5. Lay the game up 4 sequals <--spelling? so IF the game sells well, ( it will ) if they make it right so the fans get all over it ) they could do sequals.
6. NO boss, NO special guy you are hunting, like the movies, you dont know whats going on... there is so many twists and turns so you have no idea, BUT you know the deepest part and thats that you have to make it out alive and somewhere there is Someone that is trying 2 kill you.
7. Back to mp, IF they make MP, then make it like 4 ppl are in a room or something ith a trap or something like that,, trying to figure it out, or some pussle or so with a round limit, if they dont make it they die, and the other 4 guys on the other team is trying to find them, getting intel from maps, blood trails, telephone numbers and so on and so on...
so in the end,,, IF they are going 2 make a Saw game, dont F it up, make it GRAIT like the movies.
The first saw was great with an awesome ending which no one expected had they left the film at that it would of been a classic but 3 mediocre sequals later. (more then likely a 4th mediocre sequel with the 5th)
Its amazing what trash people will watch if it contains blood and violence as they have made each sequal its got more violent to cover up the poor storyline and scripting.
Wouldn't like a game of this at all.
Some of the worst films I've ever watched, ever, but saying that, the concept of a portal style game is rather intriguing and could be good.
