DSOGaming writes: "Back in 2017 we informed you about a fan remake of Pokemon Fire Red in Unreal Engine 4. It’s been over a year and a lot of people assumed that this fan game has been cancelled, however that’s not the case. Felipe Gouvea has been working on it this whole time and released some new videos that you can find below."

Best not let Nintendo see this.

Eidolon2385d ago (Edited 2385d ago )

It's impressive but it kinda astonishes me they don't just put this potentially wasted effort in making their own games. (the people who do remakes).

Born2Game832385d ago

You think Nintendo don't know about this. They can shut it down anytime they want.

tigertron2385d ago

Trust me, if Nintendo knew about it, it would be shut down.

The idea is kinda cool. But the combat looks awful, and the overall presentation isn't great. This is a fan project though, so props to them.

Even fan projects often looks better than this

Michiel19892385d ago

I agree, this doesnt look that great to me. I realize its work in progress but its in such a rough shape.

Harkins17212386d ago

Stop bringing spotlight to it until it's done. Nintendo always finds out

Is anyone expecting anything less? It will be exclusive to Switch 2 eventhough it will still look like a 3DS game

Inverno40d ago

I think the 3DS games look better than anything GF released on Switch.

--Onilink--40d ago

To be fair, The Pokemon Company operates quite independently, so it wouldn’t have been that strange for a Pokemon game coming out in just the 2nd year of the S2’s life to still be crossgen. I mean, just how long into the PS5 and SX life are we and we are still seeing plenty of crossgen stuff

gold_drake40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

not surprised.

nintendo was prepared to have some games sell the console.

im sure the game will still look like its from the ps2 era tho.

coldfire98439d ago

that is in part because of the chip shortage when everyone over reacted to sars in 2019.

Kosic40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

I've lost interest in pokemon, the mega evolve stuff was a poor digimon rip off, then the stuttering mess the 3d versions are.
I'd love a remake of gold/silver in a top down view like lets go pikachu had, but sticking with the traditional pokemon mechanics.

Uh, yea, that’s how console generations are supposed to work…
