“Square opted to push all their resources into the development of a new game engine titled as Luminous Tools.

Square's idea was that once completed, this game engine would accelerate development on Final Fantasy XIII and Kingdom Hearts III.“

Final Fantasy XIII was always developed on the Crystal Tools engine. Final Fantasy XV(Final Fantasy Versus XIII) was going to be put on that engine as well until it got switched to Luminous Studio when the title got upgraded to an 8th gen system.

“Unreal Engine 4 is responsible for being the base engine for great titles including Batman: Arkham City, Bioshock and Borderlands 2.”

Unreal Engine 4 wasn’t used in 7th gen titles, that was Unreal Engine 3.

Man, I wish there were actual qualifications to being a game journalism. Y’know, like being able to grammatically write correctly or at least have a legit editor, actually doing research, etc.

Instead you have people who just feel like blogging whatever can be passed off as news. It’s embarrassing when readers have to correct a “professional’s” work...
