November 18th is the seventeenth anniversary of the Nintendo GameCube. Though it only lasted five years on the open market, the GameCube left an indelible mark on the Kyoto-based company’s fortunes in the Wii era and beyond.
“the system was destined to struggle against Sony’s juggernaut and Microsoft’s first foray into the world of console gaming.“ It’s a huge stretch to say GameCube was doomed to get outdone by Xbox before both consoles even launched. It only became more apparent as the generation went on since there was continuous back and forth between which console sold more each year until Halo 2 arrived.
Misunderstood or not, the PS2 was too strong, too strong...
I enjoyed it and the resin was titles like Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 1&2, Eternal Darkness, Chrystal Chronicles, Double Dash, RE Remake, RE0, Pikmin, Wrestlemania 19, Day of Reckoning, Viewtiful Joe along with the GBA player and all the games that could be played with it!
Forgot about DOR, that was such a good wrestling game:
Man I loved Wrestlemania 19, DOR and DOR2! The controls were more like No Mercy which I loved and the create a wrestler was awesome as well!
Was a brilliant second system, the resi evils, mario sunshine, mario kart, those capcom exclusives, cant remember the names of the top of my head, loved mine tbf.
