How can a DLC get a high review when the base game is broken ?!? …….. Seriously Mr. Rodriguez ?!?

JJasonRodriguez2359d ago

Vampire Coast factions (“vampirates or VP”) have campaign mechanics and perks that are completely separate from the Vortex campaign — I’m assuming this is what you mean by “the base game.”

Granted, the Vortex campaign can use some reworking especially since many players have considered it quite a slog to get through (including some wacky Chaos spawns). But, since the Vampire Coast LL’s do not have you actively engaged in that mechanic, you don’t really end up in a sorry predicament. You’re actually free to ignore most of what the base game’s factions are doing in your bid to finish your own campaign’s narrative.

As for technical issues, I highlited them in the review as well. I personally did not experience any major technical concerns barring those that were mentioned.

Unfortunately, there haven’t been many decent pirate games released over the years, so it’s been a struggle to find a decent swashbuckling fix.'

Total War: WARHAMMER II - Curse of the Vampire Coast Review - GameWatcher

From GameWatcher: "I must say, for all that I know of Warhammer’s grimdark fantasy world, I never expected to see merry pirate-y sea shanties in one of its games. Yet that’s what the Vampire Count’s DLC trailer promised, and… didn’t delivered, but we did get a whole lot of pirate themed things."
