Woah it's violent! I totally wasn't expecting that. I thought it was going to be a quilting sim.

lmao the 9 snowflakes that voted you down

Good, wouldn't want them to hold back. Most RPG gamers I know are adults, we can deal with mature themes and issues. Makes things a bit more relatable.

"Victory attained by violence is tantamount to a defeat, for it is momentary."

I still plan to be ultra-violent tho.

Whoever said that didn't fight the Nazis in WW2. Believe me. No discussion was to be had with Hitler and the Japanese.

I wonder what the native Americans have to say on that matter

Gimme a 3rd person mode. See how RDR2 gives us options in that regard. No excuses

Spurg73d ago

No, it's a third person game that gives you a first person mode. You're thinking the other way round. It's much easier to implement it in TP as the games has been build around that mode whereas in FP the movement are quite particular especially when holding a gun or general movements. Adding a TP view make the character interact with the with people and the environment quite awkwardly.
Cd project red chose this mode for a reason and that for maximum Immersion and they chose keep at it. I hope they don't spend resources and time adding a feature that will no doubt be minimally used.

But you only get weird, strafey animations in 1st Person Mode. Thats true for every FPS well as Red Dead 2.

Stare at a mirror in RDR2 in 3rd person in a Hotel, then switch to 1st. He automatically goes from walking normal to waist twisting and strafing. Bethesda is the one that does it wrong.

Bro, it’s a 1st person game. They pretty much said it’s not changing. It’s done. Let’s just move on and trust that the developers know what they are doing :)

Razmiran72d ago

Or not, because this isnt RDR2
Its in the title, Cyberpunk 2077

Have you bothered to think about why it's only first person?

There will be augments to improve cognition.
Third person view already gives the player far greater advantages at seeing around obstacles, which means less risk and less strategy and planning to approach situations.

Cities can be very small in individual areas.
Such as air ducts, alleyways, fenced in areas, public transportation, and consist of many twists and turns. They aren't going to build everything with a high ceiling and large area to accommodate your third person view. They're being legit about their design here.

Oh, and the "no excuses" is an excuse to ignore reason in many cases. Excuses are real. There is a case to be made. There are compromises everywhere. Compromises doesn't mean anything bad in most cases either. It just means there will be more focus in particular areas rather than a broader stroke. In this case. We will have a game that was designed around a first person view and will greatly succeed because of it. It isn't first person because they liked it more. It just makes sense.

There is nothing that will change that and there is no place for a 3rd person view in this game unless they implement an aerial drone that links up to your heavily modified implants to give a new camera angle. I can guarantee that if this happened then that drone would be destructible, thus only used to peak and explore areas safely. Because, thought and detail goes into this game for everything. It's a realistic fantasy.

I want them to make the game they want to make. Just stay away if no 3rd person bothers you that much.

Flewid63872d ago (Edited 72d ago )

Thats exactly what Im doing. Just a shame considering I love sci-fi.

Strafe72d ago

Still crying about a 3rd person mode? Cry on, cry on.

Except this game is fully optimized as a first person experience. RDR2 is mediocre at best from any perspective.

Flewid63872d ago

I agree bro. Options for everyone.

franwex72d ago

Some games are not meant for everyone tho. I rather have them make a really good game than try to please everone and not be as great.
