The Best-Selling Games For PS1, N64, Saturn, And Dreamcast

Kotaku: “Historical game sales data can be hard to come by, so I was quite interested to see NPD analyst Mat Piscatella tweet a series of all-time best-seller lists for the Nintendo 64, PlayStation 1, Saturn, Dreamcast, and Game Boy Color over the weekend. Some of these might surprise you!”

Golden Eye should be the best selling game that game was like GTAV in the 90s it stay in the top 10

Sega fans loved their sports titles as much as they loved Sonic

Surprised Resident Evil 2 isn't listed under PS1.

Only 3 of the top grossing PS1 games are on the PS1 Classic. Why put Rainbow Six over Driver from Ubisoft? Bizarre choice

LemyAtom2361d ago

Presumably because they struggled to get the rights at a decent price. Rainbow Six deffo cost them a lot less than s lot of other choices would. Or I could be music licensing issues. I can't remember whether the Driver soundtrack was licensed music.

Still boggles me how badly Sony slaughtered Nintendo this gen despite them releasing goldeneye and ocarina of time which are still held as 2 of the biggest games of all time.

PhoenixUp2361d ago

Because Nintendo’s first party couldn’t keep up with the onslaught of third party titles PlayStation received along with its first party titles. It should be no mystery why N64 lost

LemyAtom2361d ago

Yeah plus N64 cartridges were more expensive to develop for and had major space issues.

Sony 1st party games was ass back than only decent game was GT if you consider that on the same level as Mario Zelda and Golden Eye ps1 3rd party games like metal gear final fantasy Madden and a few other games made it the system of choice back than

AvP on the Jag was pretty ambitious for the time. I always wondered what a smoother (faster) frame rate would have done for that game. nice to see a spiritual sequel is in the works after all these years.
