Forbes: "There's one bit in Red Dead Redemption 2's main story that I can't quite get over. Beware of spoilers."
The freedom to explore large areas, approach objectives in multiple ways, and stumble across amusing distractions will always be an excellent format for video games, but some do it better than others. To celebrate the formula and parse the best from the best, have a look at the best open-world games of all time so far.
General Stability Fixes and Improvements. Upgrade for PC version, and more.
Console players get screwed this time instead of PC. I'll only buy Rockstar Games now on PC because they got too savvy with how much milkage they can get away with.
And I'll wait till it's on sale
And I'll probably wait till private servers are avaliable.
GTA VI looks great but impending 30fps for the next 5 years just doesn't sound all that great these days.
Also take RDR2 out to the back pasture already if you aren't actually gonna give us the update your fans want.
Scumbags
How hard is it to put 60fps on current gen consoles.. damn it would make a massive difference.. so lazy!!
Wish Rockstar would just uncap the frame rate for Ps5 / xsx
It was long rumoured there was a next gen version coming but we're at the half way point and it's still not here.
Not everything has to be a remake the game was and still is phenomenal on PS4 backwards compatibility I'd be happy with the current resolution and fidelity just uncap that frame rate
Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 5 are both classics, but movement and general interaction sometimes feels like you're possessed by a fridge.
Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…
The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.
Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games
I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
i completely agree with what the forbes writer is saying in the article - it's very well written.
I disagree.
***SPOILERS BELOW***
"Should I level up my stamina, knowing that I've got the "sick" status modifier from here on out? Should I spend time side questing when that inevitably means I have to spend more time staring at this dying man's face? Morgan talks constantly about how things are coming to the end. What's my motivation to do anything but just getting on with it?"
Levelling up is still levelling up, so, yes. Looking at his face puts you off doing side quests? What kind of logic is that? Not to mention the sickness is a big wake-up call for Arthur and he tries to better himself because he is running out of time, something you see when doing the side quests.
Um Forbes are you out of your mind? That's one of the best part of the narrative.
The game has issues. It has probably the slowest start I've seen in a game by Rockstar. Me and my friends agree that we all nearly fell asleep because the pacing was abysmal at the start.
I cannot stand the main character .. everything about him piss me off .. from his look to his voice and he doesn't sound like how he look , he looks like a mix between Willem Dafoe and Arnold Schwarzenegger and i do know that they face scan the voice actor behind him ( even though he looks nothing like him in real life ) he still looks like what i describe.. i give props to the VA for how many lines he read but the voice actor despite his youth look he is trying so hard to sound old it makes me cringe so hard , i can't believe R* let something stupid like this happened , its so unprofessional and tasteless and it blows my mind how critics or anyone didn't point that out
