Diablo needs to move on to a new generation – with a healthy loot system (which, given the Auction House at Diablo 3’s launch, it’s fair to be a little cynical here), this is the new generation. The criticism is fair. Diablo fans want a $60 complete game, and I would highly doubt that will be the case with this game. It'll be free to play with crappy microtransactions that when successful will likely leak into the business model for Diablo 4. Better to get angry over it now and hope they learn something from fans. Maybe that way Diablo 4 is saved.

No it isn't. Diablo "Immoral" fell flat on its face and should be buried. Did you miss the Q&A afterwards or something? Did you ignore the crowds silent demeanor during the announcement? Did you miss the 200 thousand dislikes on the trailer in the first 15 hours after it was uploaded in comparison to the 2k likes? Did you miss out on Blizzard deleting critical comments on said videos? Nobody wants this and Blizz/Netease shot themselves in the foot. Its just a reskin of several other ios/android arpgs that you can already play. Seems like the only one happy for this is Kripparian and i'm sure you can guess why (cough sponsor cough)

It's a reskin of an existing game, reusing D3 assets, all for the purpose of microtransactions, and it's not even getting a PC release.

Every single thing about the the hype up, the reveal, and the Q&A is disrespectful to the entire Diablo fanbase.

The Blizzard of now isn't the Blizzard that gave us some of the greatest PC games of all time. They're just Activision 2.

It's a stupid statement, but the game looks really good. It'll probably be 10x better than other mobile games of the same genre.

I'm a PC gamer, but it's nice to have good games on mobile too. Real Racing series was an example, as someone who liked playing Sim style games on PC, it was nice to have a watered down sim on the phone.

Aren't they still working on the next Diablo game for PC and consoles anyway ? What's the big deal with this ? There are lots of people who will appreciate having this game on mobile, so I don't get what the issue is.

Exactly but atleast GTA V is deserving of the money it made as it has been available on console from the start and PC not long after..plus it has been a great game since launch..while I dont personally play GTA online I know Rockstar has invested years of work into GTA V online and hasn't seemed to have had to much trouble keeping their loyal players attention..Diablo went from being a PC and console classic of a franchise into a mobile dud that will be full of the ridiculous microtransactions that have plagued the shitty mobile gaming market pretty much since its inception

While I also agree that we need a Diablo 4, and I would have preferred the ability to play a Diablo 4, or parts of it on IOS, or in the go...I do think that Immortal could be a great filler until D4 releases.

I hated mobile games until I started working 80 hrs a week. Now it’s all I can play. I found Lineage 2 and it’s pretty damn good. Also, these games can be played on PC.

It’s not gonna replace D4, but phones and iPads are getting better and better and a game like this could prove to be pretty great!

For almost TWENTY years, we asked Blizzard to respect the Diablo formula...and we got Diablo III, tho generally fun game it did NOT respect it's predecessors gameplay and Gothic feel...don't get me started on Auction house.

Now we get a new Diablo game that is straight up a RE-SKIN of a FREE-TO-PLAY MOBILE GAME k.a. "Crusader's of the Light... made by the SAME company "NetEase" that is "developing" Diablo:Immortal....

To add ...NetEase is known as one of the WORST micro-transactions implementeres. The trailer itself made me realize how low Blizzard has fallen...and now we have articles like this (which i won't give them a single click) trying to justify this course Blizzard is sailing on.
