Biggest one for me: if you want to make the shooting challenging but rewarding, turn on free aim and change "deadzone" to lower. I turn it off competely with low sensitivity and medium acceleration as it lets you be extremely precise, but also lets you aim around quickly if you jerk the thumbstick. Just mess around with the settings.

I'm on regular PS4, so I turned down sharpness a bit (in game setting) and also removed HUD but kept notifications (eg instructions for special interactions).

Sam Fisher2413d ago

Did everything in this article (except toggle sprint) played around 2 hrs in the sensitivity and still plays like garbage. I told my friends be4 this game came out. If they dont fix the phyics in aiming they going to have a major problem

mikeslemonade2413d ago

PS Poor and Xbox 720p owners lose lol

I got the PS Pro and then I will get the game again on pc and lau it on my 2080ti. And that being said I still rather have rockstar make a GTA6 right after GTA5, we didn’t need a red dead 2.

bloop2413d ago

Thank you for sharing your absolutely useless opinions and thoughts mikeslemonade.

Dom_Estos2413d ago

Aye, mate. Know what you call that? A control pad.

Doesn't matter the game, if you are aiming with an analogue stick and expecting razor sharp reaction and accuracy, then you're on cloud coo-coo land.

Sunny_D2413d ago

@mikes

Don’t get why you’re bragging....

You’re still playing at 30 FPS... 😂

mikeslemonade2413d ago

^
Lol I will be playing the PC version on my 2080ti.

And it’s a stable 30 frames on Pro, well more stable than the Poor and 720p.

UnholyLight2413d ago

@mikeslemonade HOLY CRAP it didn't think it was possible but you've done it. You've made everyone on N4G mad and also made yourself look like the biggest tool at the same time. Well done lad.

Where is sharpness in game settings?I can't find it on ps4 pro.

EazyC2413d ago

Display, it's the second option. Maybe it's only for us OG console plebs to mitigate the aliasing

m2stech2414d ago

So far It's quite challenging and frustrating for me to aim and shoot using 8 directional analogue at 20-30fp, I hope they release it on PC someday.

Sokol2413d ago

If you're new to the controllers aiming, spend some time practicing different games. Preferably the ones that don't require fast aiming for the time being.

Years ago i switched from fifteen years of strictly PC gaming and it took me good month to get used to the controls on the console. After some time however, it becomes natural. Keep at it. :)

Valkron12413d ago

You do know there is a way to play it at 60 fps right now, don’t you?

isarai2413d ago

"8 directional"? WTF are you using? Lol

VendettaGamer2413d ago

Its not the frames it's Rockstars bad aiming and shooting mechanics.

InTheZoneAC2413d ago

one reason why pc can never be master race, keyboard warriors (not you) can't always use a controller and be effective. Whereas everyone can be great at M&K.

m2stech2413d ago

wow the reactions, funny to see so many butthurt here

Profchaos2413d ago (Edited 2413d ago )

As a PC player it sounds like you suck at games I play on pc and console when a game like rdr2 comes along and don't have a problem with either control scheme

jznrpg2413d ago (Edited 2413d ago )

Red Dead has a different feel to it than most shooters. The first Redemption took me a little while to get used to and until I did I didn’t gave fun. Mess around with it for a little bit and it should click. Even though I haven’t played in a long time it felt like riding a bike

Rumour: Red Dead Redemption 2 PS5 Version Is Real, Out This Year

The possibility of a PS5 version for Red Dead Redemption 2 just became a bit more realistic, as the very reliable leaker NateTheHate has claimed in his latest predictions podcast that a next-gen version of the Rockstar open worlder is in the works.

On the podcast, he said: "Those rumours are true. Red Dead Redemption 2 is getting a next-gen update and the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year." They go on to say that they were told the new versions will launch "a few months" after Switch 2's release, which is tomorrow. They then speculate a late summer / early fall launch window.

Please please please. My dualsense needs this game.

Aloymetal14h ago(Edited 14h ago)

Yup, this game needs that sweet 60fps treatment. Can't wait I hope this is real.

andy8514h ago

Be rude not to give it another play. Definitely won't be going for the platinum this time. That was hell 😂

lukasmain4h ago

Lol it was even harder at launch. It took me a very long time. Apparently I've heard they made it easier getting the gold medals for missions in some way. But at launch time it was a pain because after you finish the story and go back to play missions to get the medals, you lose all your perks and abilities, your dead eye level and guns everything etc. You just have the stock standard bare minimum with crap guns. If I had have known they were going to do that, I would have made sure I got gold medals when I was playing the story. But I got it in the end. Pretty sure the trophies would auto-pop on a PS5 version

jznrpg13h ago

Nice! I’ll add it to my collection

aaronlif1013h ago

I sincerely hope we finally get a next gen update to this game. It is long overdue. I'd love to see ray tracing and enhanced lighting get added. Perhaps more npc's or animals, ect.

OtterX17d ago

Good sign that the PS5/XBSX version is coming soon at least.

neutralgamer199216d ago

Buy them when they are on sale. We just shouldn't be surprised anymore by prices hikes and or new games costing more. Simply speak with your wallets if you want these companies to pay attention. That's the only language they understand

raWfodog16d ago

The vast majority of the games that I buy are never at retail, always on sale. And usually it'll have to be a good sale too. At least 40% off. All this talk of increasing game prices rolls off my back.

neutralgamer199216d ago

same i like to pay $25-30 at most and even than closer to $25

Wh1teLightning16d ago

I don’t live in the UK and this makes no sense whatsoever. These games have been out for years shouldn’t they be going down?!? That’s not how you attract new players.

The_Blue16d ago

They don’t care about us. It’s the newer generation they are after.

QuantumMechanic16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

I think this is a very apt statement. Game publishers appear increasingly to view their IP like books, music, and cinema---evergreen content that can be reprinted throughout its lifespan (until it enters the public domain). It's actually very reasonable.

CrimsonWing6916d ago

So this is how it works now? Old games get a price increase? This sh*t is completely getting out of hand now.
