Red Dead Redemption 2 How to get War Horse Pre-Order Bonus

The War Horse is one of several bonuses you can get for pre-ordering Red Dead Redemption 2. However, you can’t get the bonus mount immediately after starting the game.

This is definitely an off topic question and will probably sound like I'm stupid, but how do you shoot the sawed off shotgun in this game. At the part with the wolves at the beginning, I kept dying cause I could not shoot it. I had to run to the horse and swap it for my pistol. Even after that part any other weapon works well, but the sawed off will only fire when using dead eye. Am I doing something wrong? Lol

I had this problem too. I had to press the trigger 2 times before it would fire. Weird stuff.

Several of the guns in the game require you to manually cock or load shells before firing, so that might be what threw you off. In these instances, a manual reload before firing or hitting the trigger twice will fire the gun. Feels a bit odd in a video game but i guess they’re going for realism.

I just pressed the right trigger while mounted. Reload with B button. You should be good to go

Actually obvious problem was obvious, my r2 isn't working right. I got to the hunting part and it tells me to hold l2 to steady and r2 to pull string and nothing. Swapped controller and its now working. But it's weird cause it works with the pistol and rifle lmao so I dunno

What system? On ps4 I didn't have this issue... my issue was the hair trigger firing too fast.

You have to press the fire button to ready the weapon.

Same as me, it's your r2 button not fully pressing down, it's my 2nd controller to have the same problem. I youtube it and I took the 4 screws off the back of the controller and put a small piece of tissue behind the r2 button and put it back together and it works fine now.
It did the same with drive club not fully on the throttle and battlefield didn't work with sniper scope and shotgun.

Thanks I will try this, yeah for some reason when I hold L2, pressing R2 doesn't give me any feedback.

I got the war horse dlc in my game when I bought it, I didnt even pre order. Guess I got lucky.

Not rare to for pre order bonus to release with day 1 copies. Happened for me with dragon ball and cod before.

The first few copies made include the pre-order. So you can get it without actually preordering

the controls are hell annoying, rockstar need to release an alternative controls option ala the witcher 3 and just lighten things up a bit, its too frustrating.
