PS4 sales down YOY and its still in the lead for most systems sold this year

dotwithshoes90d ago

Nintendo is still dominating, however.

Lime, Nintendo has almost 3 million in sales on that chart, Sony has just over 2 million. Whos winning?

The ps4 could stop selling right now and the xb1 would never catch it, and the switch could take 4 years more or less... that speaks volumes to the ps4 success and still without being 199-249$

i believe that last year was the PS4's biggest year in terms of sales. This year is its second biggest year. The small decline in sales doesn't mean much. Last year was a pretty bad year for Xbox. People can spin a narrative with the percentages but the numbers don't lie - the PS4 is consistently outselling XB1 more than 3:1 these days.

Its interesting that this article clearly spells it out that the xb1 is still yet to hit 40 mil in 5 years where the switch has sold half what it took the xb1 to do in 5 years in 1.5 years. I actually think once the sony consoles see perm price drops this holiday, the ps4 could easilly sell 20 mil by new years... again.

I see people bragging about Xbox being up, but considering how low the numbers are doesn't that just show how bad the sales were for the previous year?

Yep. For the first half of 2017. PS4 was leading Xbox One by 2 to 1 in NA.
