Independent game studio kFunction has announced that the fast-paced arcade shoot ’em up Scintillatron 4096 is coming exclusively to PS Vita and PS4 in December 2018.

For Vita, these are things like DanganRonpa, Digimon, Killzone, Persona and Tearaway – titles that are recognised for their outstanding quality and universal appeal that I’d say the majority of dedicated Vita gamers will have tried at one time or another.

I read through the entire list and the game that I think I would like the most is Wanted Corp. Twin stick shooters are always fun on the go. I have to admit, that this game never hit my radar, so this article is great to bring games like this to our attention. I still play my Vita. Playing Final Fantasy X remaster and using the cross save feature with the ps4. Great system even to this day.

SXO: If you’re a fan of retro twin-stick shooters or classic arcade games then you will love Scintillatron, although I feel some people may be put off by its simple aesthetic and gameplay most will appreciate its classic style and visuals. Its slight puzzle combo system to the levels is a nice touch and makes it stand out in this genre, it feels great to hit an enemy to keep your score combo going through a massive cluster of other enemies. It rewards skill, planning ahead, tactical thinking and accuracy. All in all, Scintillatron is a fun little retro shooter that’s a bit different from others in its class.
