There will be a playable demo of Crackdown 3 at the X018 event next month in Mexico City. This will be the first playable demo of the game shown in over a year.
“This will be the first playable demo of the game shown in over a year.” Wooooow. What dafuq is up with this game?
Looks like they bit off more than they could chew
If worse comes to worst they can always pull a Fortnite and rip off PUBG.
@Skull521 That would be a bad idea.
It's kinda hard to bite a cloud
Yea, it was playable at E3 2017 as well. But it hasn't been playable since, it wasn't available to try at E3 2018 or Gamescom 2018. Good thing that it'll be available at X018, we'll have to see what's been improved.
@direwolf This built will most probably be the final or really close to the final one as well considering its very close to its release date. So that outta be a good preview of what to expect.
Oh boy, fingers crossed!
They finally make it playable and finally starting to promote it and you still complain? Smh. No wonder why this place is what it is right now.
Who's complaining people wanna know where this game has been and what has been going on since its been MIA since 2014 for the most part. All I see is people hoping it doesn’t disappoint. The only person complaining is you, if N4G bothers you so much go somewhere else
Who is complaining? Are you for real bro? Are you gonna ignore almost all the comments on this article?
It was intended to be a showcase title for "Da Cloud", tech assumed to make game development easier, only it itself by still being talked about in terms of potential rather than realized, isn't ready to be used. Wasn't ready when CD3 was first announced and yet was announced as being a key aspect of CD3.
Yeah it's going to be intresting to see what this game is like after being pushed back so much. Could be amazing or could be an incomplete game like we have seen in the past with some big ups like GT5 DC, HMCC even Forza 5 was a post that felt empty compaired to 6 and 7.
This pretty much will show us how the game will be launching. I don't think they can change as much if it's aiming for an early 2019 release.
I don’t think they are going delay the game again because this is their actual release date.
like days gone actual release date was delayed? I could see them moving it out of february to a less busy time as well. I would
Krib You always get defensive and have to bring up something negative Sony related to make you feel better.
Well they can't delay the game indefinitely, otherwise we could have another ffxv or Duke Nukem Forever on our hands.
The build for that conference will probably be made a few weeks before the conference, and is being tested now. Playable demos at conferences tend to be done well in advance to avoid problems cropping up while reviewers are playing it. Same goes for on stage demos, and pre-rendered trailers.
Carefully treading waters here
Sweet. My game pass is ready.
"Kept you waiting, eh!"
'who are you again?'
How are these games?
First one was fun as hell, second one was lazy as hell, same city, same stuff to do, but with added zombies.
really hoping after all this time that it is at least a really fun game. interested to see how wrecking zone has turned out but I'm not that confident it will be anything special like they originally promised. fingers crossed though
This game will bomb hard. And if reviews are high because they are well paid for
Bit of a problem when people already have their mind made up and making conspiracy theories before launch. Is this because its a Xbox One game?
It's mainly because Crackdown has never been a AAA game like Microsoft fans are saying it is. Also, the whole Cloud technology thing has obviously become a bit of a joke at this point for Microsoft.
it might well bomb hard but saying the only way it will get good reviews is if they're paid for before it's even released is pathetic
Give the game a chance to come out before you say things like that
Dunno about that. This game actually looks like its not even on a level above Sea of Thieves, or State of Decay 2, and those both came out to very mixed reviews. Lot of high expectations for this game, which could end up hurting it a lot in the reviews. Even if the only real selling point of this game....the cloud destruction....works and works well...if the actual game play surrounding that aspect of the game aren't that fun, or get boring fast, or aren't realized very well, it'll be a hit against it.
How much cash was wasted making this?
it will only be a waste of money if it turns out to be rubbish. but I think most people have already made their minds up unfortunately. i'll definitely give it a chance on gamepass regardless. sod2 got poor reviews and I only gave it a go because of gamepass and really enjoyed it
In the overall scheme of things I do agree with you. But i will say any money spent to have Terry Crews promote the game was well wasted. Any time spent making an in game character model of Terry crews was also wasted. That isn't a remark on the potential quality of the game, just a misappropriation of letting Terry Crews be involved in this project in any way.
I expect cancellation of the game will shortly follow.
And what if it doesn’t?
So they're showing off the game 3 months from the release date, yet they're going to cancel it?
oh yea, this game does exist ...
Looks like another critical flop like Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2.
Didn’t both average around 7/10 critically on meta critic? In what world is 7/10 a critical flop? Someone better go tell Driveclub that it critically flopped too. While we’re at it, better tell GT Sport that it’s on thin ice with that cheeky 7.5 it pulled
Metascore 67 and 69 are pretty bad scores. Imagine Uncharted 4 with metascore 67.
You bring up some nice points. What about this: https://www.microsoft.com/e... Keep in mind that Sea of Thieves is an online only title. Currently the fanbase has it a 35 and well State of Decay is missing in action on the top 50. So I guess we can take Ls on all the games mentioned by both of you. No need to get defensive. Just except the truth. Numbers don't lie. All these games didn't live up to the hype whether you personally like them or not.
A 7 means it's a good game in my book. 8 really good. 9/10 masterpiece. I've played many games rated around 7 and really enjoyed them. Although I hated sea of thieves ( looked stunning but really boring ) I really enjoyed state of decay 2. I would be surprised if crackdown got anything higher than 8 on metacritic but I will try it regardless as it's on gamepass
@Lime Thats because Uncharted consistently scores around the 9-10 mark, it would be out of the norm to get a 7. That doesn’t make 7 a ‘critical flop’, which is what you said. @Blow You’re spot on that neither game lived up to expectations, and they’re not played as much as they were at launch, but that’s not what I was arguing against - to say that 7/10 is a ‘critical flop’ is just ill informed. The reason I brought up Driveclub/GT is because they’re pretty universally praised (on and off this site) and got 7s, so my question to Lime is why aren’t they counted as critical flops? They’re great games too, just seems a bit hypocritical
If you look at the mix of reviews for GT:S/Driveclub, versus SoT and SoD2, you'll see that there are more positive reviews than mixed, and the mixed reviews still tend to be in the 70-75 range with a few outlayers. DriveClub's only real problem was its broken launch, other than that, the reviewers saw a good game when it worked before release. A few changed their score, but it doesn't appear to be reflected on metacritic. Polygon for instance change DC to a 5, instead of a 7.5 reflected on meta. SoT has more than twice as many mixed reviews as it does positive. SoD2 has 50% more mixed than positive. Both games have one 90+ review score....which are both at 90....both from an XBox focused site. GT:S has 4 90+ reviews, and a lot more high 80's review scores than SoT and SoD2 do, where most of the 80's are mid to low. DC has a good number of mid-high 80's but most of the good reviews clock in at around 80. That could be why they're not considered critical flops, and SoT/SoD2 are....although I think calling them critical flops is a bit of a stretch.
Hopefully it's good. It's been given proper dev time
I'm going to guess around 70-75 but think I will really enjoy it
Bring the BOOM Terry! I really hope part of the playable demo is the MP and not just more of the SP and for the love of GOD, please don't have celebrities who know nothing about playing video games show off the game again... It made the game look even more buggy and boring because they didn't know how to play haha
That was a advertising nightmare. Whoever came up with that idea needed a serious talking. One of the cringiest thinks I have ever witnessed.
I mean if you're going to get celebs to advertise... at least get some who are familiar with how the xbox controller works haha
Or better yet, just get rid of Crews altogether. I don't think MS needs to perpetuate this dude-bro image for their system, and Crews is about as dude-bro as they come, and I can't imagine the youth of today....that I guess they're trying to attract by using him...actually go for his style of idiocy. I also can't imagine a large number of adults would be influenced by this style of personality. I may be wrong, or maybe I'm just too old to understand, but the primary players of video games are between 25-40, with the average being 37...not 12-16. Man said that he was liking the game back in early development. Don't know why that made him a good spokesman for the game.
Oh shush, Terry cruise is hilarious.
With this amount of development time it HAS to be better than Crackdown 2, but will it be better than Sunset Overdrive?
I will be happy if it gets anywhere near as much fun as sunset overdrive
Anything that has had a long development time and multiple delays has rarely turned out well, you do have games like persona 5 which had a long development time under the radar that turn out really well though.
Will the demo include cloud power?
I feel like they're trying really hard to regenerate the hype for this game... for the hundredth time after so many delays.
I legit starting to feel sorry for this game just release it already MS even if it is Incomplete no one has any passion left for it anymore.
Sweet still a rare day one buy for me .
