Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Servers Tick Rate Currently at 20hz Compared to 60hz in the Beta

The Black Ops 4 servers tick rate are at 20hz on PS4, and not on 60hz as it was in the beta. And there's proof!

What’s new, their servers have always been crap.

Activision bought the servers at a discount price.

Got it from the Goodwill clearance with those 1990's tick rates

activision and good servers were never 2 things you should say in the same sentence. I'm more shocked you'd ask a question like that lol

Activision vision is cheap and doesn't care about their products, only how much money they take suck out of the sheep. Hence why COD has been garbage for a decade.

This is the main reason why hit registration is super inconsistent! Sigh. I hope Activision releases a statement soon about it.

You don't know how many times i have gotten behind a rock or wall and still dying a second later and it's all because they cheaped out and bought servers that can't keep up with the speed of their game.

excaliburps90d ago

You don't know the half of it! There's also "peeker's advantage" too and here's proof how broken it is now:

I always thought I had shit reflexes in this COD, but every time, the enemy seemed to already know where I am or something. Made me furious.

OMGitzThatGuy90d ago

So that's why people are constantly jumping around corners LOL This shit is so broken

Wasn't it even 15hz at some point during the Beta. I think people were already complaining and they gradually increased it. I don't understand why they toned it down again since tickrate is quite important in MP shooters.

EDIT: I looked it up and in the beta it was a dynamic variable. So was different in most games going as low as 10hz and on average around 20.

They always do stuff like this though. Like how they usually start off with hybrid dedicated servers, then rapidly drop off after a few months, and the lag and disconnects start back. It's the usual corporate greed, saving $.

excaliburps90d ago

Beta for MP was at 60hz. That's the big thing here; Activision downgraded it and didn't even tell people why. Sigh. Most likely to save money. Treyarch has been super quiet as well, which is more disappointing.

elazz90d ago

oh, I see that Blackout was between 10 and 20hz so probably since people mentioned how they liked that experience they did that for all servers? Still bad

excaliburps90d ago

Nah, they just made it 20hz for some reason. It's not ideal, and some are saying it's for cost-cutting reasons.
