Five games are leaving Xbox Game Pass at the end of October 2018

James writes - The Xbox Game Pass keeps on going from strength to strength with a regular influx of new games, but sadly for us, some of them seemingly have to leave. So, which of the current titles have outstayed their welcome and are getting removed at the end of October?

Oh wow, I can't believe they are removing Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty on Xbox One, Resident Evil on Xbox One, Sky Force Anniversary on Xbox One, World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap on Xbox One, & MEGA MAN 9 on Xbox 360. That sucks!

Kribwalker2015d ago

they add games and remove games from gamespass every month. This month added Forza horizon 4 and Sinner sacrifice Redemption on release date this month, along with other games, I expect them to announce more games in the next week or two.
If you really love those games, you can buy them at a 20% discount before they leave the service as well

optimus2015d ago

you can't make the 1st party titles part of your equation since those are slated to debut and stay on gamepass indefinitely....all other games do have a time frame for removal.

Kribwalker2014d ago

@optimus
It’s still a brand new game that would cost me $79.99 if it wasn’t on gamepass, so it definitely counts

optimus2014d ago (Edited 2014d ago )

you said that they add and remove games every month and put forza in there as one of those games. I'm saying it doesn't belong in that group because 1st party titles aren't slated to leave gamepass. what i mean is if 3 games go out and they get replaced by 3 other games then forza doesn't count towards that number as it's a 1st party NEW release. (it's not 2 + forza =3)...it just so happens to be released in the same month as the games that get added.

slasaru012014d ago (Edited 2014d ago )

I still see no reason for this. They better add the game later but never remove it than add it on launch and remove it couple months later

I really want to believe that you actually meant they're removing those games from Game Pass and that sucks and not the actual console like your comment states.

letsa_go2014d ago (Edited 2014d ago )

You are reading too much into it. I was just trying to save everyone a click without getting my comment flagged. haha and yeah, you are right, I meant from game pass.

Goldenarmz2014d ago

You saved me a click, and i thank you very deeply.

lxeasy2015d ago

meh don't care too much for these games. excited to see what they add in November

xboxcult2015d ago (Edited 2015d ago )

Not a big deal, most of these games can be bought for cheap prices at $5 or less when on sale. Gamepass seems to keep exclusive and high performing Xbox one games permanently though.

lxeasy2015d ago

Yeah they tend to keep their high profile games a lot longer.

rainslacker2014d ago

They license these games for a set period of time. I suppose they could extend those terms with the publishers. but it's probably better they keep a good rotation. And I wouldn't say all the games on there are high performing.

preciousdeath2015d ago

Been seeing these articles for a while now. It’s got me wondering, do games ever leave PSNow?

parris2014d ago

No, not yet, that's why PSNow has over 750 games.

Vizigoth042014d ago

They used. For example you used to be able to play the older Assassin's Creed games but they are no longer available last I checked. Not sure about the newer ones. I beat the first one is all. So recently I just purchased the Izio Collection from the PlayStation Network.

RookieMonsterLives2014d ago (Edited 2014d ago )

The games actually do leave PS Now. I was a subscriber and there is no real warning if when and what games are leaving as far as I know.

Here's is a list of some of the titles that were removed from my PS Now library back in the Summer:

Final Fantasy 13
Kane & Lynch
Warhammer
Assassin's Creeds
Child of Light
Raymans
A bunch of Neo Geo Games
Jeapordy
Wheel of Fortune

rainslacker2014d ago

They do. I don't know if there are ever press releases about it though. I rarely see articles about it, and certainly not a monthly update of a list....at least not on N4G.

2pacalypsenow2015d ago (Edited 2015d ago )

odd that RE is leaving but 0 is staying.

Dizzy115232014d ago

They are taking out some gems there. Why not just leave these old games? Not like they are gonna sell solo any more.

optimus2014d ago

...actually, it has the opposite effect. by removing these "gems" and letting people know ahead of time; it gives people an incentive to buy before it's too late...personally, I'm inclined to buy oddworld (a game i've been looming over) at the gamepass discount now that i know it's on its way out.

Eternal Darkness was way ahead of its time especially for a Nintendo exclusive.

I would love to see a remake or sequel (multiplatform)

Ristul97d ago

This Feature Makes Lethal Company Scarier Than Resident Evil

Games like Lethal Company end up scary because of their freeform nature, while Resident Evil's polish and storytelling ultimately make them rather tame in comparison. Agree or disagree?
